Engine won't turn over or stalls
My '88 vert has started stalling or won't turn over at all when the car starts baking in the California desert sun (85 degrees or hotter it seems). Any know what could be the problem?
I've replaced the battery, the hoses and all the fluids. Thinking I may have to replace the thermostat but I'm not sure. I'm not the most mechanical person (but would love to be) so the most dumb'd down or explained answers would appreciated. Thank you.

Tossing this thread out there for the 2ndgen guru's to pick over....sorry for the delay. I can't help because I'm still stuck in the world of 1stgen RX-7's and the Nikki carburetor.

^^that's a deja-vu post o_O
Hot start problems in rx7's can often be compression related, but you aren't giving anywhere near the amount of info needed to help. How many miles? original engine? did you check the compression? Your idea of a bad thermostat is close, but that would have led to overheating first. Rather it could be a bad coolant temp sensor.

My rx7 has 112000 miles on it and I do believe it is the original engine. I did not check the compression I will do that some time this week when I get the chance. Thank you for the tip.
