confused about EMS and j-spec motors

i was thinking of getting a j-spec turboII motor, but i have done some research and have heard that if you get a j-spec motor that you will need to get a new EMS. but would i haveto get a new EMS if everything on the motor is j-spec. the reason i ask is because i really cant afford a new EMS right now seeing as im only 17. any help is much apreciated.

Nope. The ECU is the same. If you are swapping a TII engine with a J-spec, it is basically plug and play.

If your car is an NA, it's another story.

Since you are starting with an NA, you will need the TII ECU, AFM, pressure sensor, emission harness (or modify yours), TII transmission, TII driveshaft, TII differential, TII half shafts, TII starter, TII clutch slave and a few other things I may be forgetting. See the 2nd gen FAQ for turbo swapping information.
