NC Clutch Pedal Problems Any help!!

I was driving my car and these two things fell off. The clutch seems to work fine. I have the car manual and I added the pictures. Do i need that part to be hooked up? The part came off the weld in the top of the pedal.

looks like a pedal bottom out stop/ cushion spring. have never seen it on 48 state cars, but would not be worried if the clutch is working normally

Thanks man. When I looked thats what it looks like its for. It doesn't have any wires or other things connected to it but I needed a second opinion.
