There is a thread in the 2nd gen FAQ that says what the most common bolt thread size and pitches are. You have enough posts now to post in the 2nd gen specific forum.

The orientation does not matter as the assembly is balanced. HOWEVER, sometimes there are balance washers on a specific bolt which need to be reinstalled where they were taken out. Since you've thrown out all the hardware (NEVER DO THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU NEED TO BUY) that's kind of not possible anymore. I'm fairly sure the bolts are M8 x 1.0, but check the bolt thread/pitch thread in the 2nd gen Archives to be sure.
