Unhappy cluster malfunction

hey guys my odometer on my fd wont read the mileage. when i first got the car it worked, but when pulling the engine and replcaing with another i noticed my odometer wouldnt work. everthing else works though. would appreciate the help thanks

The odometer reading is stored in the cpu and the signal producing the digital readout comes from that unit, ie you can swap instrument clusters and still have the same odometer reading. So, it's either the wiring or a connector loose between the cpu and cluster. If you replaced the main wiring harness during your engine overhaul (which you should have done) you may have knock something loose.

oh ok, well now that i remember when hooking up my new harness i did notice that a white wire had been knocked out of the plug. But I started the car and it runs fine and everything seems to work.(except for the cluster) Now that you mention it i will take a look if i have time this weekend. Thanks for your help
