hey im new to rotarys and ive signed up to this website searching for advice etc. so if any of you guys can help it would be much appreshiated... i have found a few rx7s all series 7 that im kean to have a look at and maybe purchase but there are so many different types of models eg> rs, batherst edition, rb, type r etc. wat do all these mean?
also does the "rs" mean light weight therefore has no side intrution bars and saftey features? if some 1 could tell me what is different between the models that would be choice, thanks.

The best thing to do is look at the FAQ section in each sub forum, this will give you a general idea of the car and some of the problems each series faces.
A general rundown as far as I know.
SA/FB
First RX7 out there and the technology shows. Obviously the slowest. Prime examples are costly for the age of car. The GSL-SE was the premium model and had the S3 13B engine. All other ones had the 12A engine.
FC
Second RX7, two series S4 and S5. There is also Turbo models and Non-Turbo models. Abundant and cheap for non-turbos. There are some differences S4vsS5, most are cosmetic with some engine changes. There is a 1988 Tenth Anniversary edition, this carries a premium and is the only black interior for S4 cars. The car itself has some other special things. The other model indications can be found in the faq section.
FD
Third RX7, went from cheap sports car to all out sports car and the price reflects this. Interior is the nicest, but the space inside is the smallest. I can't tell you much about the model designations, but I believe R1 was the performance version and was the lightest.
I have never heard of the 'batherst' edition, rb is probably someone saying the modified it with racing beat products, type r is not a mazda designation and if there is a type r badge the car is owned by an idiot.

welcome to the board. ![Smilie](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
i can't tell you the differences between all of those models as the Series 7 never came here and i've never really been interested enough to look them up. you can try Google or the search function on the board. other ideas might be posting in your regional forum or perhaps looking at the board that i'm not sure if i'm allowed to mention here, but if you put "Australia" and "Rotary" together ... hmmm ... you get the picture.![Wink](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
no disrespect, but you need to bone up on your Rx-7s. pretty much every model he mentioned is an actual model of Rx-7. they were beyond the Series 6 cars we got here - i think there were Series 7 and 8 cars though i don't know the details/differences. my point is the Type R (which i believe is how they derived the R1 and R2 designations in USDM cars), Type RS, Type RZ, Bathhurst and Spirit R were actual model designations.
