the car is ready for summer...is the driver?

ok. my new (to me) RX-7 is now ready for a summer of fun and many trips to the auto parts store. i have a few questions that i have found some so so answer's to. first off the car is a 86' N/A crom calli(no cold start system). First question...i have never put gas in it. my brain tells me nothing is wrong with the cheap stuff but should i run mid or even premium?(all though i think the latter is for turbo only...) dont want to make it strain to run any harder than it already is. the other question is another common one that i have had troubble getting a straight answer too...its about oil....synthetic or not? in all my other cars i run castrol gtx high mile stuff with a bit of lucus oil treatment mixed in, can i run the lucus oil and my castrol GTX high millage stuff or will this be somthing i will kick myself for doing(i have been stalling on the oil pan gasket untell i can get a strait answer). i know what brand and all that stuff is a person to person thing, i just dont want to skrew up a great running RX-7 by being a retard to it. thanks for all your help agin guys:P

Use only 87 octane. Anything more is a waste of money for you. Your NA engine is not going to have any need for added knock resistance.

High quality synthetics are fine to use in rotaries. '80s synthetics with high ash content are where the "conventional only" thing came from. It needs to burn cleanly and not leave carbon deposits.
