I have been looking into getting some more power. I am not looking to get a 1000 horse power. I just want something with great throttle response and cost effective so I am thinking about getting a Camden. It seems like everyone on this form that has/had a supercharged has not been satisfied with it. Here is what I am working with.

Car : 88 N/A on a rebuild
Has turbo injectors, full suspension done, exhaust (headers ready to go if needed) and turbo transmission.

That is the majority of the work. Gets 14 miles to the gallon. That is due to the fact that the one that rebuilt the engine put the T injectors in it. It is spray way to much fuel and that is making the ECU retard the timing. (This is all what I was told.)

I have 9 or 10 traffic tickets (lost track) so I cant afford more tickets really.

If I did the supercharger should I go carbureted or stick with fuel injection?
If supercharged would the HKS Twin Power or MSD boxes be better?
If supercharged and carbureted do I still need all that vac hose crap?
I have herd a Camden will only give me 20 more HP?

Pros that I know of:
I live like 20 mins away from Camden superchargers shop.
Cheaper than a turbo?
Throttle response
Superchargers last longer
No intercooler needed
Not many have a S/C rx7
Blower could look good sticking out of the hood

Cons?
10% Hp gain
no BOV
Not much tec support

I could be wrong on some of this stuff so please feel free to correct me.

Camdens are overpriced and under-perform. The stock turbo on a TII will blow it away, make lots of low-end torque, and cost much less.

The oversized injectors won't cause the ECU to retard timing, it will just make the mixture far too rich for optimal power. Even on stock 460cc injectors, some fuel can be pulled to free up a little more HP.

Yes, absolutely. The turbo injectors are almost 100CC larger then the NA injectors, so your engine is drowning in fuel.

As for the Camden, you'll likely be able to do a turbo swap for half the cost and the result will be far better.

There are Camden kits that have been circulating around the forum like a disease. One in particular has been owned by 4 or 5 people and keeps getting sold due to issues and disappointment.

If you have a new NA engine then it might make a bit of a case to add forced induction to it, but you can likely get a nice chunk of the money needed to buy a turbo engine by selling it.

But if you have 9-10 tickets, maybe you should take the bus?

So I should just buy a greddy turbo upgrade kit and a intercooler, slap that puppy on, then get me ecu tuned? Would that work or is there a lot more that I need? I am figuring about 4 grand to turbo is that about right?

Um, no. Those turbo kits are for TIIs, not NAs. Without some work, they won't bolt onto an NA engine.

The ECU does not "get tuned" it gets replaced with a standalone.
