building drag race v8 tt rx7 suspension?
well im building an 88 rx7 with a twin gt35r 6.0 escalade engine and need some advice on best coilover setup for drag racing with the heavier engine. of course the car will need to weight transfer so road race suspension is probably out of the question.

There are several routes you can go with this. There are companies that make drag coilovers. You can buy any set and customize them your self with softer spring rates. Some racers don't even run coilovers. They use a good shock with an aftermarket spring and they pick the spring rates. There is even a FC on stock suspension running in the 9s I believe. So your options are quite endless. Do some research and find out what fits your setup best. But don't forget that suspension isn't just shocks and springs. When it comes to hooking at the track you have many variables to consider. Some people disconnect the rear sway bar, or don't even run one. You will also have to think about the alignment. Some racers like to put a little positive camber in the rear, so when the car squats, it actually sits flat and gets more tire contact. But all that is going to take time learning the car at the track. Get ready for long days of testing and tuning before its right. I hope this as helped you a little bit or will at least turn you in the right direction. Good Luck.

i know how difficult suspension tuning can be since i build a lot of drag race cars with custom suspension setups IE lader bar four link type setups. im just new to rx7s and the irs setups.
i have built many 7 8 and 9 second 1/4 mile cars just not with IRS

Its really the same concept. Learn the car and tune accordingly. I've seen some squat and go straight, and others pull to the left or right. Thats gonna depend on the car. If its going to be a dedicated drag car just put a live axle in it and a ford 9 inch rear end. LOL. Thats been done a lot too.
