Brake rotor problem
I have an 82 that I just bought new rear brake rotors for, but the hub on the rotor is larger than the hub of the original stock rim. Has anyone run into this problem and if so, how did you deal with it?

I had this problem with my 1988 n/a. I'm not a mechanic, so I took it to one. His solution was to rout out enough of the rotor to make it fit. I'm not sure if that was a good solution or not, I'm suspecting not, but there it is.

They are rear rotors, but none of the rims will fit over the center hub of the rotor.
Thanks for the info.

Thanks for all the help. I talked to a mechanic and he also suggested having the hubs machined down to the proper diameter so that's what I going to do.
Manwhile I'm working with the manufacturer to find out why the specs were off so hopefully no one else will go through this again.

Yep, we verified that first thing. The manufacturer says he doesn't know why it won't fit. I just feel it's easier this way than returning them and buying more that still don't fit.
The reason I was replacing them is one of the ones on the car had been "modified" by the previous owner and the wheel wouldn't fit right, so I figured new ones would fix that. Boy was that a stupid idea. Thanks for the help.

My thinking is that you will have to Modify **** because he Had to modify it.
.Post Pics of what the hell you got there,so Guys can Suggest another route to Solve your Problem.,.maybe the Previous owner Screwed up,and there is no Sense in Screwing up again. If you get the Proper setup you can be assured that you can put parts on that do not need to be modified.
..in a way it sounds like the wheels don't clear the rotors. Is this a Correct assumption?
