94 fd at idle smoking

Hello,

94 fd starts with no problem . One day the car will run beautiful. At idle no smoke or very very little. The next day or 2 or could even be same day. the car at idle will smoke a good amount, but only at idle. When I get on it, it doesnt smoke only at idle sometimes. If it was the seals wouldn't it smoke all the time idle or driving it? The smoke is not consistent.

the twin turbos only have 5000 miles on it. Any help or advise would be very appreciated!

What color is the smoke?

black = fuel
blue = oil
white = coolant

When it does smoke does it seem to be most noticeable at cold start and then clear up after a a short while?

If it’s blue smoke...

One other thing that comes to mind that’s not mentioned in that thread is the PCV isn’t working as it should.

when I first start the car cold it cranks up fine and not smoke. When I drive it warm sometimes it smokes a good amount and sometimes it doesnt smoke at all. The smoke color is a whitish grey. Like I cranked it up today and let it sit for 20 to 30 min. At idle and no smoke.

How cold is it outside when your starting it?
I usually find my RX7 always smokes a touch when starting and smells like fuel but it subsides after about 10 minutes.
It could be burning off condensation build up in the exhaust, humidity might cause that, and the motor is just sealing up with heat.

Nothing crazy though just a very light startup smoke is normal.
If it doesn't get worse when getting on it I doubt you have anything major going on.

Is it like a strong smelly plume? Usually you can smell what it's burning too.
