Any of the current synthetics will work just fine: Royal Purple, Neo, Idemitsu, etc..

Only in America. Those who can get JDM FD's (like Canada) can get 1992 FD's.

I liked Mobil 1 but I think they sold out and are really hard to find.

Thanks for the advice guys. Was also told that GM Syncomesh was good to use and easy to get.

Cheers!

I wouldn't recomend the GM fluid. I would rather use a non synthetic gear oil then that stuff.

I used GYM Synchromesh in my MR2 turbo for years with great success, but I would not recommend it for the RX7.

In the long term, if you use GM Synchromesh in a tranmission that was not designed to use GM Synchromesh-type oils, there could be premature component wear.

I have been using Amsoil 75/90 gear lube for the past 7-8 years and absolutely love it!

There are many gear oils that will work. I personally believe in synthetic GL-4 oil in 75w-90, which is why I prefer Amsoil MTG and Redline MT-90.

However, from an engineering point of view, there are three things that are most important:
- synthetic (better properties across the full range of low to high temps)
- 75w-90 viscosity
- GL-5 or GL-4 designed for synchromesh transmissions (some GL-5 gear oils are formulated for use only in differentials and compromise synchronizer performance and longevity)
