1986 FC rotates but does not start
I recently just bought this FC and have only done basic maintenance on it since I've only owned it for about a month. On colder days, it would start roughly, but eventually, it stopped starting at all. I've tried replacing the ignition relay and even put a new fuel pump in. I can never hear the pump whirring but the multimeter I've been using says its getting power. There also seems to be gas leaking out of the exhaust.

welcome to the board.
you can download a copy of the FSM from: www.foxed.ca
you won't hear the pump because (in the stock circuit) it waits for a signal from the AFM. so it basically starts pumping when the engine starts turning.
offhand, maybe check to see if it's flooded.
you mentioned basic maintenance (aside from a new fuel pump), what exactly have you done to it?

pull the plugs and see if they are wet.

one point of warning, when you crank the engine to blow the excess fuel out the chambers, don't let the plug wires hang near the plug holes.

Finally had a chance to pull the spark plugs and check them, they were wet but when I cranked the engine nothing much really spat out and when I put them back in to try starting the car nothing changed.

did you make any efforts to clean and dry the plugs while you had them out? may be time to consider that they may need replacing.
did you put any oil in the chambers?
maybe try disabling the fuel pump and crank it until (taking breaks for the starter, of course) it starts to sound like it wants to fire, then allow it to start normal function.

yeah we cleaned and dried the plugs while they were out and just recently replaced them too. I didn't try to put any oil in the chambers. Ive also tried disabling the fuel pump and cranking it but nothing helps so far, it actually sounds worse than it did before occasionally grinding when I try to crank it

During all of this how often are you charging the battery? The grinding you hear might just be low current draw to the starter. It is more of a clicking usually though.
If you have charged the battery often... the grinding is troublesome.
