12a fuel pump question
Hi, I have a 82 Rx7 that I have lightly modded and wondered if I need to upgrade my fuel pump. I bought the car with a clamped together straight through exhaust (no cats) but stock exhaust manifold (header soon). I modded the stock nikki with mechanical secondaries but with a non-modified AP diaphragm (I will probably do this mod soon though). Upgraded to 2gcdfis and I have removed all emission equipment including rats nest and air pump. It runs awesome right now but should I upgrade the fuel pump or is this set-up ok on the stocker. If I add a header and increase the flow and range of the carb's accelerator pump (per Sterling's instructions) should I upgrade then. Thanks for any help.

I think that you have enough mods to justify a fuel pump upgrade. Check the 1st Gen Archive for my thread on upgrading to a Carter pump and Holley FPR.

Thanks for the advice and pointing me in the right direction with your thread. I will be doing that upgrade (FP with its own relay plus FPR ) soon. I did the "Sterling" accelerator pump mod today and can def. see more fuel surging through my carb and also it would be cool to have a fuel pressure gauge under my hood. Here's the referenced thread for any one following this same path, it is very helpful, Thanks Kentetsu. https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-arch...ey-fpr-529605/
