WTB: Tristate Area: 79-91 Rx7 in Excellent Running Condition

I am looking for a 79-91 Rx7 in Excellent Running Condition (strong engine, transmission, differential). Must be reliable and well maintained. Receipts for maintainence and parts a plus. Exterior and interior not a priority (dents, dings, chipping paint, faded paint, ripped upholstry). No serious accidents with frame damage. I am in no rush but I have the liquidity for the right deal.

Post here, PM me, or email (jrn256 (at) nyu (dot) edu).

Please include:

Year:
Model:
Engine (and miles if different than chassis):
Miles:
Current Use (i.e. DD, Track *****, Project, Paper Weight, ...):
Past History:
Recent Maintainence:
Problems:
Relevant Mods (i.e. diff, clutch, and anything else you feel help with reliability or performance):
Price:

Thanks,
Jake

Possible sale!

I have a 1991 NA 5spd. GTU that I might be interested in selling for right price. It has just under 63k original miles. runs mint. Never seen a winter, garaged winters. everything works. recent work done was exhaust, full tuneup when I bought in sept. 05, rear control links replaced this summer, new brakes and rotors as of sept. 06. runs mint, interior very nice, a couple paint chips on the exterior but nothin major. Looking to get $5k for it. Please email me if your interested! patrick.lavallee@maritime.edu

Would you please be a little more descriptive regarding the "full tune-up". (e.g. Were Rotors balanced? Timing Belt? Accessory Belt? Oil? Diff Fluid? etc...)

I took it out this spring and it was idling between 500-1000 rpms kinda jogging inbetween, wouldnt stay still. But after takeoff it runs smooth up to about 6k rpm under hard acceleration and then the acceleration slows, like hesitates and takes awhile to reach redline. I was told this could be many things from vacuum leak, cat convert to my apex seals going. I got the plugs, wires and fuel filter changed about a month ago. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks Pat

^^^ I pulled this from your old thread. Did you ever work this out.

a full tune up on a RX usually consists of plugs, air filter, wires if they are really old, and fuel filter.
drivetrain lubrications are usually not considered standard tune-up items.

There is no other scheduled maintance, and there is definitly no timing belt.

suspension, safety equipment, and lights are all legal. The only "off-road" part is the engine.... Currently registered/driven on the street... get's taken to work at least once a week... I'll PM you my phone number, it's much easier to discuss everything done to it over the phone instead of listing it here...
