true true. Seven stock is my personal motivation. The Seven Stock Guys come to our event and we actively support them. If you ever have an opportunity to go, its well worth the trip

I gotta say that caravaning up was literally half the fun...all sorts of adventure, made some good friends, and oh did we have some adventures (that's how I got the nickname "lawnmower man" lets leave it at that). Ok well, lets just say don't underestimate what an 18 wheeler rig can and will do

Weather is always a toughy, but I was fortunate enough to take my FD out onto the track on Sunday (everything had dried up), and had an incredible time w/ an instructor riding shotgun, giving instand feedback thru the mic, etc. So needless to say, I'd def. take advantage of the opportunity to get some track time in (if it's available this year as well).

keynote22, while there are def. lots of upsides, you know what would have me there in a FLASH? If we can hit the oval track too...ohhh yea...I've been dying to try and top out my FD on an oval track hehe

didnt you get enough top end on the road course last year? What am i saying? There's never enough top end. :P

The oval track is at our disposal...I just didnt know anyone would want to be on it. We have been trying to drift on it but at this point that is probably a 2006 project. Oval track use might be an option. I'll look into it more.

Here's how the conversation goes:

I'd like to use the oval track.
ok what do you want to do on it?
what I say is "test and tune suspensions" what he hears "flat out high speed runs"
have your drivers ever done this before?
no.
Uhmmm ok that will be 20 gazillion dollars in insurance please

nah J.K. I 'll look into it.

I def. saw the upside of 140, but I didn't wanna push it further...was still getting into the rhythm of things. Better to be safe than sorry I guess.

Yea I totally can see that. But OMG you guys actually CAN use the oval track?? I obviously haven't done it before, but I would think w/ banked turns (which I assume it has), it can't be that hard or unsafe (but def. take a few practice runs to get confident), since the turns will help pull you around the track. Now if it's a FLAT oval track, that's a diff story...

Ur smokin crack Rich lol. Some areas, the cops see you coming, and literally chaparone you into and out of their state lol. Other areas, you can hold a stead pace of 105 easily, no sweat I'd suggest for anyone who's caravaning that you practice some blocking and passing maneuvers...it comes in VERY handy (lead car makes the lane change, slows down a bit while the rest of the cars come up from other lane and pass in front of him, thus the lead car now is the last car, etc). That way, you ensure the group stays together, and don't have to spend 20 min waiting for someone that's caught between a truck and some cars, etc. Walkie talkies are a blessing, too

IRP is using the oval track for test and tune of "private individuals" I tried. It's so small that we probably couldnt get much speed in there. Still might have been fun..maybe next year.

Rich, you still goin? I just got word that we may be finishing 2 weeks early (so I'd actually finish ON Friday the 22nd). So I'm tinkering w/ the idea of going, but it would be very VERY tight.

Dan, Adam, Charlie, Dave Bob, any of you guys goin this year? FYI, these are the guys I went w/ last year, plus a few guys from Jersey (Kevin and them w/ the 1st gens), and we had a great time. The drive itself was a hella lot of fun. We held about 90 most of the way, had walkie-talkies to keep in contact for any problems, gas stops, hunger, restrooms, etc... radar detectors in the front and back, and of course, a solid procedure for lane changing and passing. First car changes the lane, holds it's position, while the rest of the cars come up and pass in front of it... so the first car becomes the last. Pass and block. Worked wonderfully, even w/ the 18 wheelers (Let's leave that story alone guys! )

I dunno who's comin from the VA/DC area, but last time, I just drove up 70N, and met them right after the PA turnpike met 70 West IIRC.

Rich is registered and paid and I keep telling him to reply to this thread. The more the merrier. We've got some of the biggest rotary engine names in the business there this weekend I'd like to impress them with a ton of rotary owners.

Jim Downing, Rick Engman, Daryl Drummond, Allen Johnson, Chris Ott, Ari Yallon, Jesus Padilla, both Carlos Gonzalas' (possibly), and Ken Scheepers (possibly) just to name a few.

Come on out, it's going to be the best event ever. We'll be posting the layout for the Sponsor Exhibit area soon. I'm sure everyone will be impressed.
