Tuning in MA, who, where, and how can I learn too?
I read the mechanic sticky and there is a lot of guys on there. I also know about Teztntune and Synaptic 3.
What does everybody run for an EMS in MA or neighboring states and who do they go to to get them tuned? I'm looking into getting Haltech for it's broad band of support and most tuners know how to tune them.
I also eventually want to get into tuning not as a job but for a hobby, anybody know where you can pay for classes or anything? You think an established tuner wouldn't mind teaching somebody the basics for a couple bucks?
Mods are in sig. I just bought the car and want to make sure I get it tuned before I rag on it.

I run a Wolf3d v4, i tune it myself, every time i re-tune it goes faster as you become acustom to what to look for, trend's etc etc
EFI 101 class's could help out, as for paying a tuner to tech you to tune, that would be up the the individual, because you would basicly be trying to buy there experience
as for who can tune, it, im 99.99999999999999999% sure teztntune can tune ur haltech

Rick, I can't wait for that either.
So I'm thinking of getting a plug and play unit instead of a widely recognized Haltech.
The Power FC and the AEM EMS both come to mind. I believe the FC needs datalogging and the EMS needs boost control though.
If I used piggybacks I'd still be on the stock ECU, so the fuel cut would still be in effect, right? The FCD is a way to get around that but fools the computer. Even if it fools the computer can you still tune the car to a safe level?
Also, aftermarket ECUs don't control emmissions right? So what does everybody do to get a sticker in MA? Stick the stock one back on? Wouldn't fuel cut be back in effect than when they run it on the dyno to check the emmissions?
