A tune really doesn't matter as far a lag goes.....
Bigger the turbo.....bigger the power..... bigger the lag... I had a T-70 on the car before....and now i have a Gt-35.... way more responsive..... I did a pull with another Rx7 making 100hp more than me..... 2nd gear i pulled a little, 3rd gear I held my lead, 4th gear he came screaming behind me like a bat outta hell.... LOL.... and he was gone!!!!!! Its also the reason y a lot of people still keep the twin turbos in FD's. There smaller yes.... but a lot more responsive then most singles... I guess it all depends on what type of power you want to make |
Well I'm shooting for 400+ at around 20 psi. Here is my mod list so far....
1987 S4 Turbo II S5 Turbo II motor and trans. Street port done by Jim at JPR HKS Light weight flywheel ACT clutch Racing Beat Rev II exhaust Racing Beat FCD 720 CC secondaries Greddy RS BOV Air box, Power Steering, Air pump, Cruise control,and AC Removed ACV EGR valve Block off plates (thanks sunfire :D) And these are the parts sitting in my living room lol. Turbonetics 62-1 XS power Manifold HKS External wastegate Microtech lt-8 Greddy Front mount Walbro 255 RC 1600CC injectors. |

Like andrew said, You dont need to much power to drift.... the car is light as is... I dont want to sound negative cause i see you have all your parts already.... So on the positive side I think youll be able to make the power you want with less boost..:icon_tup:.. so your not beating up too bad on the motor... Sounds like its going to b a sick ride.... |
yea there stupid light, i used to kick out my fc with not too much trouble, and i was making like 110 hp to the left rear wheel :)

~400 hp at 15 psi sounds perfect. I'm really hoping those kind of numbers. Thanks for the input, I really am a noob (this is the first car i've owned lol) so all info is appreciated :)
Andrew, I'm thinking about just putting the turbo on a shelf for now and getting coilovers next. This way I could slide around with the current engine setup for a season or so before I go big turbo. |

dont you love how you can be chilling nice and calm and two kids in civic hatches come past see a fd and have to start acting like idiots. we werent even standing next to it and they felt the need to rev like idiots and start doing burnouts and the one dude almost clipped us driving like and idiot lol no i remeber why i dont like most ppl with civics. the ones that are respectfull are cool but most of the ones i know act just like that.

its for anyone that goes to the tuesdaynight meets and is planning on going to deals So who's going to deals? im not considering you saying "im going to deals" going to deals. im paid for an looking into housing along with omar.. so until youre paid for and have housing, im not considering you "going" cuz a lot of people at the meet seem like talk this year and i dont want anyone getting screwed over because of them.... as of the looks of it, if everyone who claims theyre going to come is comming, then were gonna need atleast 2 cabins. as for agenda, this is what we were thinking. wed night- leave thurs morn/noon-arrive in VA thurs night- stay in VA fri morn- head to nc sat/sun dgrr sun leave/stay another night pending... called for more cabin info and there are 3 4bedroom places closer to lodge <2mi away but at mt top and steeper incline (claims the lady i spoke with) so i was thinking the same cabin we got last year and the one beneath it. both are 3 bedroom places (lower one is a little more) |
