Specialty plate for Maryland rx-7s
Got a running idea of setting up a group to get custom organizational plates made for rx7 owners in MD.
plate would consist of a rotor as the logo with RX7 stacked vertically and a 4 digit number
this would require setting up a federal/state non-profit organization (meaning a REAL MD car club), and charging 25 bucks per plate with a minimum of 25 guaranteed members.

I'll go ahead and try and see how to set up a nonprofit to get it done.
im sure the plates will come in order starting with 0001 so i think fong is just going to have to suffer with a lower number, and should get 4 separate plates anyway :-p
how often do you have that many cars with sequential license plates
would look neat for a photo with all the cars lined up in order.
once again, i dont know how it handles historic yet and im leaning towards that it doesnt unless otherwise stated. it may just be a whole "have to have 25 or more" deal to get historics.

well.....who wants to help do all this?

thats pretty much whats required just to get to the level that the plates can be requested.
LOTS of legal stuff, hence it would have to become an OFFICIAL RX-7 club for MD

yeah but you don't need most of that checklist if you aren't starting a business to make money around the non profit. it probably won't cost more than $40 and some paperwork if you don't have any officers, etc..

Sounds like a great deal...
I just got my registration renewal notice in the mail; $128.00 for 2 more years with my plain old boring MD plates. I assume that when it's time to renew, MD tags you for another $25.00 per year for these plates, so it would be $178 every 2 years?
If the plate swap process with MVA is relatively painless, then count me in.
