Amp,

Call them up, get a quote. I'm ok with either but since I've never been to NJ Motorsports, can you shed some light on how it works, like what sort of tech inspection do they have if you want to drive your car on the track, do you need helmets, do they rent them? etc....

but G it needs to be big... this is supposed to be the biggest event of the year for us.....and yea the meet at PA was good, but it was also pretty cramped, we struggled to place the cars and alot of them were kinda thrown in a corner, we need room to spread our legs.....

a strip or track would be good for those grudge matches and...now that i think about it, i thought i read somewere about a mobile dyno that somebody was talking about, maybe im just going crazy but i could have sworn.......ahh anyways

is anybody doin T's for the event? i could use a few more in different variety to represent, especially since polak isnt updating his stock anymore. it would be sick to have a rotorfest '08 T or something

i can dream!! and no matter how it turns out, im going!!

polak updates his tee's usually the week of rotorfest.....im sure if there are vendors they will bring tee's as well.....the issue i getting together, agreeing on a place, setting the price and getting the vendors involved....jason we need to get on this soon because planning time is running out and people are booking up time already for summer.......the natives on 8club are getting restless for info already as well

I was looking at the different schedules and alot of days are already filling up. Looking at Atco I can only see one day and thats a Sunday in May left open. Hopefully somebody gets on the ball soon to get a spot early.

This way people from as far away as Canada and Florida can make there plans if they decide to go.

keep in mind alot of the larger tracks are going to want any vendor to carry insurance, this was another issue with the tracks that would deter a small vendor from attending.

Insurance is cheap, they just put a rider on their existing insurance.

im aware of how its done, but thats assuming they carry insurance to begin with.

alot of the forum vendors may have some sort of business registered, but they may not carry insurance. To suck up the insurance cost for a car show that may have 140-170 cars is a tough call.

Just making the point because it would be great to have it in alot of places, but they are all not feasable for the size show it is.

just a suggestion

this is sounding better then englishtown.
Im sorry but I dont want to be shoved in a section of parkinglot shared with other makes of vehicles.
It becomes any other show.

I was actually psyched for it to be in a park like grounds again, where it was just RX's and people shooting the **** about thier cars.

Gone are the days of "brotherhood" where we all chipped in and did some cooking and prep work

When even the mention of having RF with another event was brought up everyone screamed no.
Not that anyone cares, but I obviously will not be attending englishtown.
I will see you guys at one the more private events you throw over the summer though.

Yeah, it sucks I agree with you. However, we as a community are frowned upon from congregating in parks. Sure enough years prior to the show going to Island it was our own folks doing burn outs and driving like asshats that put the show out into the less private arenas.

I'll be at english town, because I like to watch the races and the car show. But I'll also be at Seven Not Stock which is definately a more private and far more mature group, sort of exactly what you're looking for, just sans rotors

I think it's gonna be way out in indy this year. I'll be making the haul. They'll actually be catering the event and to help out it's 40 bucks/person which includes 2 meals, and drinks/burgers during the event. I'd say less then 30 people will be at the event which is cool with me.

nj motorsports is new.. supposed to be opening this year..
scca region im involved with already has a schedule for this summer with the park..
tech inspection is just like any other.. its going to depend on the club you will be runnin with..
yes you are expected to have a snell rated helmet.. if recallin correctly .. minimum is 2k..
check out mazdadrivers.com.. hpde.. etc for some relative info.. its typical with that of a porsche... audi.. beemer performance club driving event..
oh and if folks from last year were moanin about a handful of dollars.. typical rate is nothin less than three bills for entry fee.. doesnt include incidentals

see this is the reason why we cant, have our own damn show that everyone hears about..... because you guys wont suck it up and go to the ones that would put us on the map....how are we supposed to get our own "big" one, when the ones were supposed to be going to, you dont show up...

its just like jason said, we have to do this stuff to get sponsors...theres strength in numbers..

and then people wonder why nobody knows about our cars.....its because theres barely any that will come out of hidding to show off their sick *** rides.

if everybody shows up we wont look small

^^ thanks.

I know for now its a little different than what we have been used to which is rotary only, and to be honest its fun but im thinking about the future. If we can get mazda involved in some way shape or form that would be great for the rotary scene on the east coast. Mazda has even developed its own mazda forum for mazda enthusiasts to find one another and help set up events. A place where mazda scans thru the posts and offers there services to club and event organizers.

This years event is not 100% only rotary but im planning on having other venues that will rival anything ever offered by RF. I dont want to blow up the spot until it has been confirmed so please stay tuned.

Hope everyone will come out strong and show the automotive community that mazdas are coming back and hard. Mazda is doing great right now in sales and the company image is growing with the public so lets ensure the momentum. Who knows we might benefit by mazdas increased popularity and get that 1.6 liter 2 rotor engine a lil sooner or even better street legal 20B lols

Well atleast there will be an event this year, were not totally rotorless

even a VW show has over 400 cars, I cant imagine a gasp- honda show.

RF never broke 150 cars or so, 150, even 200 cars sitting in a 1000 spot parking lot is going to look a bit odd.

Back when no one wanted to share a show, now its a different tune?
Lets not forget how little cars actually ended up drag racing the last time.

But again- lots of luck, you can speak your mind so can I

It never broke 150 cars because the organizer felt he did not need to advertise or have sponsors or any vendors. It was just a glorified hang out. ****, I've been to NYRA meets that had 70 cars. Jason has stepped up and putting together an event for all of us. Thanks for your positive input Rob!

thats me, Mr. Positive!

I just dont get the change of heart, no one ever wanted it to be shared with another event, people even got thier tampon strings in a knot when a piston car would be parked near the others, now its ok.
People complained about the admission price and what not, wait until you see how much they are going to charge. The food and drink aint going to be cheap either so all the penny pinchers will be whining too. As far as a small vendor selling items, you better just sneak that **** because im sure englishtown will want a hefty fee if they even allow tables to be set up- probably want you to spring for a booth.

But at least there will be girls in bikinis!

Who says I aint positive!
Now im just having fun with it because in the past all these things were taken into consideration when events were planned.
Hopefully Jay and the "commission" come up with someone to fork over some heavy coin to ease the burden.

People only complained about the admission price because it was changed at the door. You dont tell people one thing then give them another and when confronted you blame the track. The track people then say that they have no say in the price.
