Skip Barber @ Summit Point or Va Int'l Raceway?
So since my Spec7 is on perpetual hold for seven years and counting now. I figure I may as well upgrade the driver.
The Skip Barber website says there are classes and stuff at Summit Point and VIR, but there are none on the schedule.
Has anyone ever taken classes at those tracks? Obviously, these are the tracks closest to me.
I'd rather not spend money on an airline ticket and hotel stay at Laguna Seca or Sebring... That could double the cost.

I did mine at the old Road Atlanta. If I were to do it again, I'd probably choose VIR, because it's a truly beautiful facility and amazing track. The only advantage I'd see to Summit is that it's a shorter, and therefore easier to learn, track, so that part will be less of a challenge, and you can concentrate on other areas of driving. However, that's minor IMO. Go to VIR.

I gotta disagree with many of your points about SP and VIR. I love both places and think anyone should do both.... Each has its own challenges and each has many different tracks.
The Skippy school I saw taught at VIR was taught on the South course only. I don't know if they ever use the full course. I have seen them taught on the main and Jefferson tracks at SP.
To the original poster, I am having a hard time following your logic??? Skippy schools are good, but expensive. They are about the cost of a raceable SRX7. I guess you have your reason, but I would look into one of the track club schools or the Mazda Drivers ( http://mazdadrivers.com ). I am not knocking the Barber schools, but if you are wanting to keep costs low for track time.... there are other alternatives.
