RX7 Leads SSGT2 Class @ One Lap!!!!
As of yesterday evening at 7pm, The DC Mazda Club/Team Nuke 'Em From Up High CYM Mazda Rx7 driven by Mazda Club members Dave Henning and Chris Regan had inhereted the lead in the SSGT2 class for small-bore entries in this year's One Lap of America.
I had written the following note to them at 3:30pm yesterday....
>> Congratulations on your very good run so far…….
>>…..keep on keeping on!!!!
>> I put the whammy on the Daytona, so they will break prior to event's end!
>> Would you also put the PSD magnets on the car for photo ops while the car is >> sitting between runs? Lastly, would you consider keeping the decals on the car >> until our car show in Rockville on the 14th of May at Congressional Mazda? It >> would be cool if the car could be there for that function.
>> Have already got your foot in the door at Mazda if you guys are foolis……er……adventurous enough to try this again next year.
>> Looking forward to hearing from you guys during our MSCW meeting Wednesday evening!
>> Keep the faith, and best of luck for the remainder of the event. May the (rotary) force be with you!
At 7pm yesterday evening, I dropped by the Rotary Revolution/PBC Automotive shop to socialize with the crew, and was then informed that the guys had called from the road and had mentioned that the Daytona was beginning to suffer mechanical woes!
The moral of the story is that one should not mess with rotary guys who (unlike those wacky piston engines) are not well-connected!!
Follow the Team DCRx7 guys by visiting their www.dcrx7.com website, or check out the Car and Driver site at www.onelapofamerica.com for more information.
Cheers,
JD
