Rotorslam 2011 - Sat June 25th - Etown Raceway, NJ
Guys,
This post is to welcome all rotary powered vehicles to Englishtown Raceway on Saturday June 25th. For those who don't know, SummerSlam is one of the biggest drag racing events in the NE. Some of the fastest Rotaries from Puerto Rico battle some of the fastest rotaries in the US. It is by far one of my favorite events.
The event organizer, Javier Ortega, is a rotorhead and a personal friend. I asked him if it was possible to have an area of the track sectioned off just for the rotary guys and he will set that up. Everyone would have to pay the normal entrance fee, no money goes to anyone except the track.
It would give everyone an area to talk and meet the other forum members and just hang out. Each year myself, Roan, Ernie, Turbotommy, Jim@JPR, Rx7aholic, Judge Ito Enzo, etc all attend this event. There will be no car show (unless you guys want one) it's just a meet where you can show off your rotary related ride, talk rotaries and have some fun.
I will update this thread with more info as I get it.
Vendors, pm me with any questions.
Also, to get things going, check out the flyer for the event.
Thanks,
Anthony

Also a big thank you to Javier Ortega for using the local rotaries on event flyers!
He used my car for the northeast tuner (below), Ernie's car for summer slam and I just sent him a few shots of Roan's car.

This is awesome. I actually emailed Englishtown a month ago asking if we could have a rotary section of the car show area to arrange a mini meet during SummerSlam and never heard back. This should be a great event since we can all meet up and then check out some of the fastest rotaries in the world!

Yes, it's a drag race and all out car show. You can participate in the "Englishtown" car show if you like but you will be parked at another location to do that.
I agree. I am going to try to get some of the fast PR/USA cars to maybe park with us. Maybe we could have some of top tuners/builders speak with us etc. Should be fun.
No, racing tickets are more expensive, we would only pay a spectator entrance fee as if we were spectating but we would all still be parked in one area. If you guys want to drag race you can still buy a race ticket and park in the same area. If you are new to drag racing, it's not a bad time to go down the track and maybe do a roll out and a mph pull to gauge your HP.
Any questions let me know.
Thanks
Anthony

Cause the very last time i brought the FD to etown, i didnt want to park in the spectator lot so i paid the racers fee (30 bucks) and parked inside like i was running. Then i pretended my car was broke and never lined up lol
Did they change the rules now? How much would it be to pay the racers fee (to park inside) WITHOUT actually racing?

The rules are different just for this one day since this is organized by Etown. You won't be able to drive around in the pits etc but they will section off an area where everyone can be together. For this one day, you will be able to park inside without buying a racers ticket.
Thanks,
Anthony

Mighty Whitey lol, that's a great one! Rob, if you approve, windshield stickers are on the way...
Oh man, I thought you guys would be there for sure. This is a Saturday event, no chance of you guys coming?
The track is going to be open LATE since it's the weekend of summer slam, even if you guys could get there later in the day, I'm sure it will still be worth it.

Yes, most of us do that if we are not racing too. You don't have to pretend your car is broke, once you pay a racer ticket, you are entitled to be in the pit area.
