Rotor Mania Dyno Day - June 28th, 09
This is not set in stone yet. I need to know who wants this type of event and who is going to participate. In this area it is hard to find a dyno shop in southern CT with room for spectators and participants.
Their is a dyno shop in Stamford, but I don’t think there will be enough space to park cars. It is tight!
They want at least 10 cars @ $75 for three to four pulls.
I also did some research on portable dynos and I found a couple. They are not in the area and would have to come down to CT. I would have to pay for their mileage.
I would need about 25 cars @ $75 for three pulls to pay for the portable dyno + mileage.
If I missed, a dyno shop with the room to hold a big event let me know.
If this event is a go, than we would have some categories. For example...
12a n/a
12a Turbo
13b n/a
13b turbo
King of the Dyno
A dyno king will be crowned at our event and there is a possibility of a dyno shootout at the OSTC Toyota car show (rotary vs. piston). Again, this is a POSSABILITY I mentioned it to the president of OSTC and he MIGHT consider it. It depends on the location and if the location has the room to add a dyno to the car show. Remember OSTC car show last year was a big show.
Some ideas I had was to make a custom trophy or wrestling belt that would say DYNO KING and people would compete for it twice a year. The winner holds the prize until he or she loses it at the next event.
We also have a problem, Englishtown has an event on Sat June 27th Team Puerto Rico will be there. I did not see Team Puerto Rico posted for June 28th, but rotaryboyz said they will be there. So that will put a damper on our event if everyone heads to Atco.
So Rotor Mania might just be a BBQ Meet if there is not enough interest.
Let me know what you think.

Due to other events on this date as well as timing issues we will be rescheduling as follows...
Rotor Mania is rescheduled for Sunday August 2, 2009. We will still have a meet June 28th, 2009, but no Rotor Mania or dyno.
This will be a family meet at Seaside Park Bridgeport, CT and we will discuss over BBQ, Dominoes, etc... What we are going to do for Rotor Mania. I got some great feedback at Function 7 Meet (thanks chuch). If you want to give your input you are all welcome to stop in. We will have some surprises in the form of a newly restored RX-3 owned by Charlie, Louis's RX-2 in pristine condition, and Sammy another great RX-2. These cars are show winners!
As a matter of fact Charlie, Louis, and Sammy won first, second, and third respectively at a recent car show. CONGRATS GUYS!
Thanks for the talk and help on the date Bump Master Flex

Team PR will be at Summer Slam on the 27th & 28th...
Ken, like I said before. Try to talk to your guys about having the meet at Etown instead. Summer Slam is going to be off the hook and there's usually tons of show cars on Saturday. Sunday might be a better day to have the meet.
Let me know if you guys are down. I'll try my best to assist you with secure parking etc.

It looks like we will have a mini meet at a car show in New Haven, I have to found out more info from the guys.
Just a reminder: Like I said before Rotor Mania is rescheduled to August 2, 2009. As a result of a conflict with Summer Slam on the 28th in Englishtown.
Thanks,
Ken
