Have you found out about Y.A.M.S (York Area Mazda Society)? We're in your neighborhood. Check out our website. www.yamscarclub.com We are mostly RX-7 and Miata owners, but any mazda model is welcome to join. I'm from the Mechanicsburg area close to Harrisburg.

I'm 30 miles north of philly. I'm pretty deprived with rx-7 meets here. Not to many of us. But there are many non rotor car meets.

It doesn't cost to lurk around on the site and see what we are up to. Come out to York to a meeting or introduce youself at one of the SCCA/Susquehanna Auotcrosses. There are three listed so far with more to come. April 15-16, and Oct. 22 all at Hershey Park's parking lot. We will also be at the Carlisle Import/kit car show and would like to get as many Mazdas as we can to show up. Stop by and say Hello if you see us any where.

Undutched.. YAMS will actually be right across the river from you. About a 20 min drive depending on where in Lancaster you're at.
RotaDrift, I'm in Elizabethtown. 20 min from both Harrisburg and Lanc. Not 100% sure where Hanover is. That's in Lancaster right? Anyways, I'm up for something.

Hey, wow sounds great. 20 mins is nothing
I am not sure when I will be there. I will be working in Lancaster, but where im living, i have absolutely no idea lol.
So, this means this will be the first time i dont have to drive 2 hrs to find someone who has a japanese car and is an enthusiast hehe....
Im up to anything. Wether its a dinner, a drive out to some track or whatever. Depending how the car runs I buy of course.
Are there any Rotary knowledgable people within 2 hrs driving???
The car im looking at has almost or already has 130k on it.... its a 88 TII, a 10th anniversary.

Hey Undutched!
The schedule isn't posted yet for the 2006 SCCA/Susquehanna Region Autocross series, but last year we ran 5 events at Lancaster's Park City Mall. I'm not sure but I think they will be running them there this year also.
There are about 7 or 8 of us in YAMS who are running Mazdas in these events.
Keep checking our site, we will post soon when the schedule is finalized.
I know a little about the 10th anniversary and turboII's, more about n/a's.
Check with us when you get in Pa. Maybe we can give you some info on what to look for when buying.

I was on the YAMS but they don't really have any decent info on where to join/how to join/the process... make 'em sense? I'd also like to get into the AutoX stuff, where would I find all the rules/regs/reqs for the stuff that would go on in our area?

You ask about two things. I'll try to answer both.
YAMS car club is only a year old. The web site is paid for by the members which is why the $25 registration fee. You don't have sign up to read everything on the forums, just to post to the web site. To get a better understanding of what the club is, go to the forums section, click on General Chat, click on the first announcement "Upcoming Changes/dues are Due. The club president TJ has a brief explanation of what the club has done and where it is headed.
Second is Autocrossing in central Pa. The local chapter of SCCA (Susquehanna Region) puts on most of the events. Go to http://www.scca-susq.com/ to find out what and where the events are. As for rules and classification of your car at the Auto-X events go to the SCCA National site. Copy and paste http://www.scca.org/Solo/Index.asp?IdS=00FFB3-A7BEF40&x=050|070&~=
to your address line. Then Download the 2006 solo rules .pdf.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
I have a major problem with the FC, being all the TII ones I could find need some kind of rebuild or at least pretty soon. Problem is I will need a running car within 2-3 weeks time.
I think this means, my FC project is laid of for a little bit as I need a daily driver once im there.
Im still looking. I actually thought these are abundant. In Germany there were about 600 sold total so they are very scarce.

I'm local to everyone, and I'm also going to start autox'ing this year. The local SCCA group is at http://www.scca-susq.com/index.html and they have a message list at
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/scca-susq/
Andre, welcome. Please bring some good Hefeweizen along - nobody has it here in the US right now and it's driving me crazy. I will work for german beer.
I'm happy to help anyone with their cars, but my experience is mostly 3rd-gen specific crap and manual transmissions. BTW, If anyone needs a good FD tranny I've got one almost ready to go.

Just did my first Auto X of this season with Philly on the 1-28. Running in ASP on street tires till the season starts and still placing 5 of 8 or 9. Susq and Philly will be running a crap load of Auto x's this year and a few test-n-tunes. Try it you will love it!!
Philly's next winter Series Auto X is on Feb 18th. I'll be going if anyone wants to hook up and cruise down.
Thanks Dave, for the assistance last week. Everything went back together Last Friday night she fired up the 1st try.

Hey Tim! I was going to let you know about DGEESAMAN and his tranny for sale but I guess you found about it by yourself. I saw the results from last Sun. at Aberdeen sorry I couldn't make it. I haven't gotten around to getting the car inspected yet (ran out end of Dec.). I Didn't want to try driving all the way to Maryland and back with an expired sticker.
What, was there a Porsche meet there that day or what? That must be the most cars you have run against in ASP, isn't it? Get you new tires and go kick butt!

I might be interested in the Feb 18 AutoX. I gotta clean all the junk outta my car though. That'll probably take me a good three months *chuckle*
Did they have helmets available there?

2lucky2tha7, sounds AWESOME... Thank you very much for your offer
I was looking at this one, as again I need a running car from the start.
I found an apartment in Mountville (I think its called).
http://autos.yahoo.com/usedcars/deta...l0PVNlYXJjaA--
I asked him a few questions. at least all the ones i could think of.
1. Repainted?
2. Prior accident?
3. how many previous owners?
4. What kind of hybrid Turbo? engine tuned to take it at all?
5. last fluid changes (oil, diff, etc.) ?
6. transmission fine? no grinding?
7. rust?
8. Last time injectors and spark plugs were changed?
9. When were the parts installed as in turbo, suspension, etc.?
10. invoice and info on new engine?
11. anything else buyer should know about?

Assuming there is no snow, I'd like to go to Aberdeen, so I'll cruise but no hooking up. I'm not like that man.
