Hey Guys,

After our Queens NYC RR meet on the 4th, we have two additional cars that will be coming up from NYC. So far we have a vert, a TII and a FB

I really hope that everyone can get out for the meet.

Please keep this thread up as much as possible, I would like it to get exposure so that other rotary heads can tag along or come out to the meet.

Hey Everyone,

I am just clarifying with everyone that this meet is for SATUDAY JUNE 11th and not the 10th.

I will not be able to make it up on the 10th and the guys coming from the city will not be able to make it up only on saturday either, only on sunday.

Anil got a prob i forgot thats the same day as the PR parade & i told my Job i would rep them in the parade b4 i knew about the Lake George meet i hate to cancel but i just started this job so i cant just not show up sorry about that my rotary Bro. But i will continue to come to the meets i wanted NYC to be in the Rotary lifestyle like SO Fla & Cali rotary meets. Well i was just online with Jay time for me to go to sleep 2:22am good thing i dont start work til 11am and leave my house til 9:30am

So we are looking at Sunday June 11 at the Wal Mart parking lot.

What is the target time? My brother in law just got back from an 18 month stint in a MASH unit in Iraq and he and the family are coming up from Brooklyn on Sunday to have a barbeque at my house - but not until later in the afternoon. So the earlier the better for me.

In case not everyone knows, the Wal Mart we are talking about is just off exit 19 of Rt 87 in the town of Queensbury. Coming from the South you will take a Right off 87 then go to the third light (not counting the one at the end of the 87 off ramp). Take a Left at that light (major 4-way intersection) and Wal Mart is less than a mile up a hill on the Left. As with all Wal Mart super centers it is pretty hard to miss.

Hey Everyone,

We are meeting at the Walmart that's down on Rt 9..... I know that there is a walmart down there cause every time we go to lake george village, i always end up driving to walmart to pick up stuff we forgot.

I am not sure if its 9N or 9S thats the only issue. Also don't know if they turned it into a super walmart as I have not been up to Lake George in two years.

The easiest that I remember to get to the walmart is after you exit on the I 87 for lake george as you exit you hit Rt9 and at that point u just make a right and take that all the way down to wal mart which is on the right hand side... this is past the great escape and so forth...

Basically if your driving down RT 9 and your passing the great escape and its on your left then your going the right way...

The meet up is for 12pm..... I will be getting there a little early..

Walmart is just the meet up spot, if anyone has somewhere else that would be a good hangout spot and is nearby then I would appreaciate it if you could speak up and let us know. I would eventually like to take the whole crew from the walmart spot to another location where we can hang and take out pics.

Anil, No doubt you can get to Wal Mart the way you said, but you will be driving past it by 5 miles then driving the same distance back to it after you get off 87. Just get off exit 19, go down 3 lights and take a Left onto Rt 9. Wal Mart will be less than a mile on your left.

Being Sunday, all the motorcycles will be leaving town (with people attached to them) so we could probably just drive to Lake George and find a good spot by the Lake to hang out.

Just how many people do you think will show up? It seems someone else is dropping out every day. Any thoughts about a different weekend later in the summer?

Hey,

I know that it's like every other day another person drops out.

I will be coming up with 2-3 Rx-7's from the city. I wish that I could bring more but some of the cars in the city can't make the long journey as we might as well have a tow truck follow them for the breakdown.

I really want to make this happen regardless. I want people to know that the meet went down and they missed out cause they did not come, so that when we hold a meet in Lake George next time they will attend.

I hope to have at least 10-12 cars show up.

I will follow your directions on the quicker way to get to walmart.

I hope to see you guys up there. If your going to come, please post a reply indicating that you will be there and what you will be driving in so that at least I an have a general number of how many people will be coming.

I'll be there around noon in my red 94 (decidedly not stock) and hopefully I can get my wife or a friend to drive my black 04 RX-8 (stock trim).

I have seen about 6 other rx-7s and about the same number of 8s in this area, but I don't know anyone personally and I don't know where they live. If I get a few free minutes and happen across these folks I'll take the time to introduce myself and try to get them involved. I have seen 2 very nice first gens (my personal favorite) that I am tempted to follow home next time.

We'll see how this one goes, but a meet either in Lake George or in Saratoga anytime during August would be great. Lake George is hopping all summer long and Saratoga has the thoroughbred track that draws all kinds of famous people here during August. Not to mention there are several campgrounds and a 6 flags amusement park (Great Escape). July and August are non stop around here.

We'll see how many show up this time then start lobbying for another date later in the summer.

Hey Everyone,

Its Thursday, the meet is in 2 days.

I estimate the meet up at 12pm, but if your on the way, u can call and let me know that your on the way and we can wait.

Most likely we will be down by the lake after the initial meet up.

I posted this meet and seems that everyone is dropping out like flies as the drive seems to be too much.

I am still going up on Sunday morning from NYC, if anyone wants to accompany me, i'd appreciate it.

hey guys
this meet looks like a better turnout than i expected.....
unfortunately since nys is still screwin me i cant register my rx
the other thing is i have to be on long island for sunday
if it were saturday id still head up to meet you guys without my rx
so we will defnitly be planning anothre weekend once my rx is on the road

Hey Everyone,

Yeah I would definately like to plan another weekend out in Lake George after this initial meet to get the other rotaries to come out.

I took a drive up to Lake George in Upstate NY to host a meet and apparently nobody came out except for one person who stuck around for 45 min and left and did not bother to even call me...

Here's the pics that I took while I was in Lake george village.

Hopefully there will be a better turn out next time and will give me a real reason to put 500 miles on my car in one day.

Next time you plan something, let me know via PM. That's my old stomping ground. Freakin' fantastic roads to cruise around on up there, great food, good bars, and a whole lot of fun/trouble (depending on what you're looking for). I'm in Harrisburg, PA right now, but my FC still lives in Schenectady. Catch you next time and maybe I'll see some of you @ the Bear Mtn. meet.
