Rotary Meet (Lake George Village) - June 10th & 11th

Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone wants to go hang out and have a rotary meet in Lake George on the 10th and 11th of June.

I know that there are alot of rotor heads in the capital reigon that can't make it to the NYC meets and alot of people in NYC that never meet up with the heads up in the capital reigon

I am cruising from NYC early saturday morning to hopefully get a 12pm meet up, that is if anyone is interested.

If anyone want's to go and spend a weekend hanging out and having fun with fellow rotor heads, let me know. I will be camping out on saturday night and heading back to the city on sunday afternoon.

Bear in mind that if you are tagging along from NYC, better tune up the car and get it in good running condition as the trip to and back is 300+ miles.

Regards,

- Anil Singh - 88 vert

I only live about 20 minutes from Lake George so I'll definitely show if it happens. I'll even let the wife drive my winter car (the RX-8) so we can have more cars to play with.

I'm one of those freaks with two reliable daily driver rotary rockets.

Let me know what we end up with, where and when.

Cheers!!

Lake George Meet

Hey Guys,

Great to hear that at least 2 people will be coming. I am definately making this happen as I am off from that work that week. Unless something drastic happens to the vert like open heart surgery, I will be there.

I used to live in schenectady and never saw one RX at all. I know that there are rotary owners up there but very rare to see.

We can do a pre meet in albany and cruise in to Lake George Village together if we have enough RX7's going.

I would hopefully like to see more rx owners attending from the city though to at least meet up with the upstate peeps so that at least we know for a fact that other rotor heads exist in NY.

Please remember that this is not limited to certin RX's. Once your car has is powered by a rotary engine, your welcome.

As for the activities for the day, that will get planned later on this month.

Hopefully I won't have to sell my vert to pay for gas to get up there as the price of gas has been getting ridiculous in the city.

Keep up the posts guys and hope to see you all there in June.

Regards,

- Anil Singh

If it happens, I'm totally down. As long as i can bring my friend who doesn't have an RX. He'll be riding with me, though, so he'll be semi-rotaty powered.

Lake George Meet

Hey Guys,

It's great to see that so many people are interested in attending the Lake George Meet.

I am throwing in a new clutch on my vert next week so I will get a chance to break it in on the way up there.

If there is anyone interested in driving up from the NYC to Lake Geroge like I am doing, please let me know so that we can prepare the caravan. I am leaving no later than 7am on Saturday morning to get up there by 12pm.

As Ramello said above, if everyone that is coming could definately get back to us. I will do a rough draft on the attendance roster so that we have a rough estimate of how many individuals/cars we estimate.

Regards,

Hey Folks, Lake George is going to be CRAZY busy that weekend with motorcycles from all over the country converging on one little town ("Americade"). Finding a spot for a dozen rotary cars to meet might be a bit of a challenge. It would be nice if we could find space down by the lake, but most of the good spots will be taken I'm sure.

Jay-o, do you have any ideas where we could find some space??? This could be a real problem. Lake george more than quadruples its population on Americade weekend.

ya there is going to be nowhere right near the lake that 12 cars could meet, no less 3 cars. Its more than 4x the population taht week i believe. But there are places that are like 5 minutes away that we could meet. I am 100% sure i have to work that day because it is the busiest day of the year. Jay

Hey guys,

I am from MA,but I have spent some time up there in the Lake George area, and I love it.I was hoping to go up this year camping in Warrensburgh, but with my wife expecting our second child in August we are going a little more local.I was hoping to head up there anyway for a weekend to celebrate our anniversary(belatedly).I was wondering if this is still on,and if so where could I stay for one night or two?I would rather go on a different week when it wasn't so busy, but if I could find a place to stay I would come up.I would love to take my 79 GS on a nice road trip.Let me know if this is still on.

Is this meet going to happen?

Maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit since it is still May, but if anyone is planning on staying in or around Lake George that weekend they might have trouble finding ANY hotel/motel rooms. Plan early and if you get stuck let me know - I have 120 acres of tentable land you are all welcome to share (about 25 minutes from Lake George).

Jay-o, did you get your FD tuned yet??

I would love to go,but I am thinking lodging is going to be tough.I usually camp in Warrensburgh with our camper/trailer,but I would rather take the RX-7,or my RE/PU up instead.I am not even sure I am free that weekend, but I will try.

June 10 is my 20 year (high school) reunion. I'm probably going to be bouncing from one party to the next that weekend, but I have been waiting for a rotary gathering around here for the last 18 years so I'll make time somehow.

I hope you can make it - I'm a 1st gen junkie. I've owned 6 or 7 of them (I can't remember when I lost count??) and still have one under a tarp behind the house just waiting for some of my theoretical "free" time. I drive an FD in the summer and an RX-8 for the winter, but my heart is still with my 84 GSL-SE.

Let me know if I can help if you head this way.

I love your part of the country.I wish I could buy a home up that way to use in the summer instead of trailering our camper up there for a week at a time.My wife just told me that her brothers daughters Baptism is that weekend, and we are the god-parents so I won't be able to make it up that way.i would still love to come up that way for a weekend if it is possible.Maybe in the next few weekends I will come up,and stay for a night or two.

I also love my 1st gens, and after owning an RX-8 for a year I realized I missed my 1st gen a lot.So I got out of the lease a year early,I loved the RX-8,and wish I still had it,but the monthly payment(although low at $300) is better sprnt on my new mortgage.

Lake George Meet

Hey Guys,

Looks like there is a good turnout so far, although I think that I might be the only vert there.

It's nice to see the older FB's get out and get some much needed attention.

This meet is still on... the only issue that we have presently is the meet up spot...

If someone is familiar with Lake George Village and the surrounding neighborhood and can recommend a good meet up spot it would be much appreciated....

If nobody comes up with a meet up spot then I am recommending the WalMart parking lot... The parking lot should be enough to keep us together until we make a final decision on what to do and where to go...

Also need to know what you guys wana do... I would love to have a little BBQ so that we can have food and listen to each other's stories and discuss issues.....

My mobile number is below in the event that anyone wants any info..
(518) 338-7187..... my name is Anil... my AIM Screen Name is "ASingh2358"

If everyone who is coming can PM me with their name and what they will be driving there I will do a general post of who is coming so far attendance wise......

Thanks again guys for keeping the post alive....

Regards,

- Anil Singh

Wal Mart parking lot in Queensbury (just South of Lake George) sounds like a good spot to meet, but there is nowhere to barbeque or relax, so we will have to motor to an alternate local after the initial meet if that is the goal.

I would say we could meet at my place for a barbeque, but I'm not going to be home that evening (20 year high school reunion dinner). Maybe next time on that one - I have a pad that was made for party-central.

I'm trying to come up with another barbeque site, but everything is full of bikers that weekend. There is a village park in Lake Luzerne (about 15 minutes from Lake George) that has parking for about 20 cars, a small beach and some barbeque areas - it might be doable, but I would not count on it. Everything is packed that weekend.

By the way, the offer still stands for anyone that wants to pitch a tent or small camper at my place. Plenty of room.

This is all assuming you guys are still coming North after your meet this weekend.

Lake George Meet

Hey Everyone,

The meet is still on, i don't know what the weather is going to be like yet but it should be good..

The Walmart parking lot is just the meet up point, if anyone has a good hang out spot other than the walmart parking lot then speak up...

Once everyone is there, then we will make a decision as to where to head out to.

I would love to go, but my Seven is too damn loud and uncomfortable to make such a long trip. It's too bad, 'cuz I haven't been to Lake George in years...
