well there is one other problem with the 185 tires on it right now, some stopped short in front of me the first weekend I had it and woth the panic stop I had to make all 4 tires have flat spots in them, they go thup thup thup , drives me up a wall. Got spoiled by the antilock brakes on my BMW I guess, so I don't stay as close behind anyone anymore, I try and stay way out in front. Also I still want too run the Ghia at least once.

Nice bike Mike! Watch out for all the mindless idiots out there on the road... my friend recently got torn up pretty bad because some asshole hit him on his bike.

Joe - I saw you turning onto Hull from the Kroger intersection. I was standing outside of Fridays when I thought I heard an RX-7, then I saw it was you. lol sounds good!

l33trx7 07-07-04 11:21 AM

Ok the squeek has drivin me over the edge. How the hell do I get rid of that damn squeek in the rear end in my car. I can't stand the stupid squek anymore.

Zach McAfee 07-07-04 11:50 AM

WD-40? Something is probably broken and your getting some metal to metal rubbing. The lateral link end is busted on my car so it squeaks a little.

Joe, how much of the main wiring harness was retained when you did the microtech install? Do you think this [microtech] would be best for a N/A to TII job? Would it avoid having to buy a TII harness and ECU all together? Just curious. Not like I have $1800 laying around to buy a TII motor and an LT8. :(

l33trx7 07-07-04 02:02 PM

Where can I go to get something like that fixed? Or at the very least checked out.

shouldnt be all that bad. ive never done one on a rx7, but you need to NAIL the joint with a hammer to get it out. it WONT come off easy as its a compression fit.

dealership would probably be the best place. we do stuff like that ALLL THE TIME. lexus owners are freaking picky. all good though, at our $90/hr. shop rate and hunting down the squeak

l33trx7 07-08-04 01:20 AM

Thats what I was afraid of. Oh well I think I've also neglected something important adn I just realized it. My rear diff need oil too O_o. So tommorow should be fun.

Hello all, hey joe ill get that impact back soon. Right now i have had a lot of chit going on. Anyone interested in my 3rd gen, i dont have the time nor money to have this many toys and they have got to go. I have the 93, 2 4 wheelers, and possibly my wifes ranger for sale. Let me know if anyones interested i rather have the 93 go to someone who will take care of it.

Everything that plugs into the engine ECU harness gets yanked out. I'd say you reduce the wire count from about 50 to about 15-20. If you were pondering going turbo, I'd get the EMS so you don't have to worry about used brittle harnesses or tracking down gremlins. Not to mention that if you ever want to change the setup, the option is always there. ;)

onepointone 07-11-04 10:47 AM

summit point was amazing this weekend.

i talked to an older guy that has a friend with a 20b convert that blew an apex seal. he says its been sitting for awhile and he wants it gone for "next to nothing". i gave him all my info and im going to see exactly what "next to nothing is" and if all goes through, i could be picking up a 20b fc.. not that im getting my hopes up, but it would be sweeeeeeeeeet

calvin 07-11-04 07:36 PM

That is George... Next to nothing is a lot by our standards. There is a web site about the building of the car.

onepointone 07-11-04 07:57 PM

naw, i know who you are talking about, the white widebody covertable? i asked the guy twice if it was a widebody, or if the guy was on the forum, and he said no. i know that guy wants about 30k for that car doesnt he? its also a single turbo isnt it? this one is a twin turbo.

besides, i highly doubt someone is going to get rid of a 20b conversion for cheap, or atleast what i woud like to call cheap, but you never know
