*sigh* and the project continues... i ordered my walbro 255 today, and i have an electric fan, hose connectors (for intercooler piping), and the parts needed to make my upper intake manifold ready to order, just need to get ahold of my dad's credit card. once i get those parts in, its hooking up the rest of the wiring harness, mount the battery in the back, make a clutch master cylinder line, run coolant lines, intercooler piping.. mount fuel pump, put oil in, bleed brakes.... and should be good :bigthumb: im REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY shooting for next month, but you know whats been happening every other time ive been shooting for 'next month'. should def. (hopefully) be done for the first autox

Idont know about yall but this winter chit sucks.I cant wait for summer,im sure my car cant either.Well we added another mazda to the family. We traded in that piece of shit imbreed dodge(eclipse) and got a new mazda 6s.We got a 4 door protege5 hatch to drive over the holiday so they can get the 6 ready to go,cleaned up and detailed.I think im falling in love with the protege, but $17,000 for a week 2.0 liter,it needs more power. We have to get a spring cruise together so no one has any excuses not to be there.Hows your brothers car coming back together, rob?Joe hows the clutch?

For $17k you could get a Mazdaspeed Protege :D 170 HP 160 TQ. It's not super fast, but not slow either. Pretty fun car, too. If only it wasn't FWD....but I love my "non rx-7" (thx zach) anyway. I'm definitely down for a drive, btw!

For some reason they want more for the 4 door hatch than the mazdaspeed.Weird, they are fun little cars to drive,no good for drifting though,i tried opulling the handbrake on some of these back country rodes. It just loses the front end and wants to push.

It's pretty pathetic, I'm driving a NA... :o:

Once I hit boost, it slips...so I'm going to bite the bullet and pick up one (order) next friday ($day). Anybody know a place to resurface a flywheel? Not to mention I get the joy of figuring out how to get 300 someodd ft/lbs of torque on that damned bolt...:)

88 vert 01-03-04 01:51 AM

Joe napa does the flywheel, and that bolt isnt all that bad to get off.I got both flywheel bolts off with a craftsman 1/2 impact with about 120psi. If that doesnt work,i have a 3/4 inch ratchet that i used to beat the flywheel bolt off my brothers car.You still interested in that CPU?I finally got the 91 out to the house and me and my brother almost have it ready to go to the junkyard, all the int. is out and just have tranny,moldings,5lug conversion, and wheels to pull off.If anyone interested i have tons of S5 black int. parts.

Josepi 01-03-04 09:13 AM

How's the armrest/console lid between the seats? Mine has a small tear in it...I need to get underneath the car today to change oil and check out my front drivers side suspension bits...it's been pulling (or atleast it was last night) after an encounter with what appeared to be a sinkhole in the fucking road...

Josepi 01-03-04 10:45 AM

oh yea, and that whole understeer curb check...

I may need a S5 endlinks or control arm or tierods....the left side has some excess + camber and it's pulling...fuck fuck fuck motherfuck fuck fuck...

88 vert 01-03-04 03:50 PM

i got em,the console is in great shape.I also have that CPU,and a wiper switch.

Josepi 01-03-04 04:00 PM

Got back from looking at it, I can't tell if there's damage...I was expecting to see something bent or loose, but everything "looks" ok...still pulls though and I go straight I have to turn about 5-10 degrees to the right. So i'm wondering since the tie rod that goes from the steering to the wheel looks ok, that's fine...but I'm wondering if one of the ball joints is jammed or the rod coming from the ball joint is bent to the spindle...

calvin 01-03-04 09:23 PM

When my car did that, the cause was a bolt that hd fallen out of the joint between the steering knuckle and the bottom of the strut, allowing it to turn about that far.

I'm still alive. I got computer poarts for christmas and they have given me nothing but trouble. Hopefully the computer won't crash every 5 mins. Bah. Gotta love em. Anyhoo I'm out.

update

lets see, heres the update on the flipped 90 gxl...so far the engine is fine except for the cruise control, which i would give a thousand times over for that engine. as for the body, we have the new driver side fender and door in the garage. we hammered through the welds holding on the bumper mount, as it was crumpled up like a piece of paper, thinking we would have to somehow replace it. luckily, my uncle somehow hammered it out to about 95% perfection. the passenger side mount needs a minor fix as well...as soon as those are welded on, the fenders will be on as well, along with the door. the same uncle, God sent, can fix the gorgeous black hole of a dent in the rear quarter panel. im hoping to get the corksport type II bumper, but if anyone has any suggestions, let me know. after that, im having it painted midnight black. and it will be finally done...its amazing how 2 split seconds that are a flash in my memory equate to 3 to 4 months of no license, no car, lots of money, and very little fun. i cannot give enough thanks to my brother robin and uncle ron...(tear)...damn emo music. i went to g force for the first time last friday and didnt flip a kart....hella crappy times for the first time, like mid 25s. i had to race with one other normal kart and 8 superkarts...excuses are gay but i swear....

Josepi 01-07-04 07:33 AM

I like the CS Type 2 kit... ;)

If anyone is locked out of their FC, I now know how to use a coat hanger like a slim jim to open it...locks froze last night, and when I was warming up my car this morning, the damned doors locked themselves...weee!

Who's doing the painting?

onepointone 01-07-04 02:03 PM

im down for g-force this friday

jgordon 01-07-04 07:23 PM

the guy doing the painting is Mr. Stoffle...he recently moved here from minnesota...he builds show cars as a hobbie/sorta second job i guess. ive seen some pictures of his work, an old corvette stingray, a shelby cobra, and some other muscle cars i dont know what they were, but they all looked beautiful. im hoping for a pearlescent neon green to candy red color. na, just going to go with black. ill try and scan those pictures and post them.
