From what I remember, you need to remove the fan itself before the shroud will come out. Of course, if it is a junkyard car I am sure you could find a way without removing the fan...
I think the fan attaches with 4 10mm nuts/bolts.

I am removing the E-fan from my 91 FC
I have a clutch fan I want to put in
in order to do this I need to remove the efan and fan housig (or do I?)
I am looking for the best easiest method that won't destroy the fan shroud
with shroud out of the way the fan install would be very easy
also does it then become a nightmare to put the shroud back on with fan installed?

GSGT you could probably combine the two and still spend less than a TII
all you'd have to do is swap his drivetrain over to my car (oh and the TII ECU and TII fuel pump)
mine has the 4 piston brakes, the interior is in mint condition, and it has a carbon fiber TII hood already

I have a ton. haha here is a short list
The car started out as a 1987 t2 all the upgraded parts have about 500 miles on them
-a few spare housings/Irons: mostly s5 turbo housings some ok, some not ok
- I have fresh RA apex seals with barley 500 miles on them
- s4 turbo rotors that are practically brand new
-s5 turbo rotors
-both s4 and s5 flywheel counterweights
-polished Upper and lower intake
-ACT clutch and lightweight flywheel
-Manual steering rack
-two A/C compressors (if you want A/C)
-Energy suspension bushings all the way around the car (that was a serious pain in the *** to do)
-Tein adjustable camber plates
-Ground control coil overs and KYB AGX shocks
-braided stainless steel brake lines
-I rebuilt both the brake and clutch master cylinders
-DTTC elimination bushing
-Semi regid poly motormounts
-I cleaned and painted the wheel wells, and the engine bay with a super strong PPG urethane which came out really well
-It has a custom v-mount set up with a nice size aftermarket IC and a really nice crossflow radiator
-Black magic electric fan
-I also have the stock IC and two stock radiators
-megasquirt standalone ECU with custom wiring harness
-innovate LC-1 wide band O2 sensor
-I also have the Rtek 1.5 ECU and a stock wiring harness to go with it
-2x 1000cc RC engineering secondary injectors and 4x cleaned and flow tested 550cc stock injectors
-optima redtop relocated to the driver side storage bin
-Walbro 255 pump
-Stainless braided fuel lines and AN connectors
-Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator
-greddy intake adapter
-Stainless steel braided oil lines
-I went throught the entire wire harness when i did the megasquirt
-I have a T 03/04 hybrid turbo and an s5 turbo with a fresh rebuild and two s5 tangental exhaust manifolds
-It has s5 front and rear bumpers and i have all the s5 trim as well
- BLitz sequential blow off valve
-It has the nice hubcentric adapters that are sold on the Rx7club forum, cant remember the brand
-Gen3 wheels, with five brand new tires, and the stock T2 wheels
-Really nice Hella dual beam headlight set up
-Bosch 100amp alternator
-Extra aluminum stock hood that I was going to weld a reverse flow vent into
Probably more that i am missing.

absolutely has been covered. From what i recollect the main problem is the ECU/Wiring so you need the S4 wiring, the front housings from an s4 (electric OMP) and an s4 ECU. I have the s5 electric OMP as well and front cover, but i dont know how well that would work. If you stick with the standalone it really does not matter.
