yeah there are more ford taurus there than rx-7's!
My FC will be out there next week, OMG the new stance suspension is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! I seriously have never drove anything so tight and responsive, but at the same time not over bearing on the spring rates...it is a very well designed coilover system. |

Anyone going to Starbucks tomorrow night? Girlfriend is out of town so I don't have a curfew!
|
I unfortunately won't be there, I'm head up to NY for an extended weekend. I'd actually like to go to get rid of the grille I just misordered for the 240. Its a JDM Sylvia grille, but it's for the Zenki (95-96) and not the Kouki(97-98) 240 I have dammmnit! And several of the guys that show up are in teh Zenkis.
Anyone else going to be running at Langley Speedway autocross next Sunday (12th) that NASA is putting on? |
i might be up there for a hot minute but I dunno yet. If I dont go out early then I will stop by for a drink and look at all the awd rides. Robin if you convince that guy with the blue FD to do a LS1 swap I might be the only rx-7 in town with a rotary!!!

How consistent are these Friday Night get togethers and where in Richmond do you meet?
I am pasting in a post to unload an 85 GSL-SE and a "donor"---Live east of Charlottesville--about 50 miles from Richmond. Let me know if you are interested in my car(s). *sniff* Nancy After much time and angst, I decided to stop trying to put my beloved 85 GSL-SE on the road. A few years ago, I found 2 GSL-SE's in a nearby junkyard and brought them to my home so that I could part in items I would need to get my original GSL-SE back on the road. One of them is still there on blocks-took a rear right hit. Had ~90k on it at the time. Last summer, I finally got my car started, but could drive it due to a rotted out rear brake line. This car was "fostered" by my brother in NJ and never got on the road here in VA. In general, the body is in good shape from the outside-can't provide info on undercarriage/other areas. Dent in rear, rust at driver's side rocker panel and it needs a new paint job. Original color is black with burgundy interior. Can't check for under body rust as it is outside. Project car? Yes. But when we did get it started, it purred after I grabbed the (never adjusted throttle stops- throttle body) from the "organ donor". Actual mileage on the car is difficult as it was stolen in '94 and we replaced the radiator to the rear from a wreck from Shippensburg, PA. Long story... Anyway, I have recently procured another 85 GSL-SE that is in pristine condition. I am morally and ethically obligated to get my original baby to someone that will do right by her before she has no potential to be road worthy-ever. For sale is the original car and the organ donor. I can't type out all that I have between the two of them---you will need to arrange to talk to me. I am located in Virginia between Charlottesville and Richmond.-closer to Charlottesville. Price is negotiable-but they both need to find a new home. I do not get a chance to come onto the Forum much-my email is njh6f@virginia.edu and my home number is 434-589-5720. A recent purchase of a digital camera has made it *somewhat* possible for me to send pictures. My friend, who is a retired Mazda Technician, lives nearby and has pallets of used first gen and some later model RX-7 parts---can put you in touch with him if you are needing anything. |

Alright people, I am beginning to think it is time for me to sell my FD. Im going to stick to only posting it on here for a while because I dont want to put much effort in at this point and want a local buyer. The car has been wonderfully fun for the year I have owned it, but need to start saving some money and dont have the extra money to replace any unforeseen incidents. Ill let the car and the mods do the talking, but it is truely an exhilarating piece of engineering that makes everyone stop in their tracks and break their necks watching her drive by. I've gone head to head with a M5 E60 to 120 (actually a funny story because it was a 55 year old and his 16 year old son laughing their asses off). I never took it to the track but would guess 12.5 sec 1/4mi.
She has about 9k on the street ported engine (i put about 7k on it in the past year). Here are the mods Engine Mods (9k miles on components) Stage 2 custom built engine by Rotorsports Racing - street ported..only about 9,000 miles on engine Oem plugs and competition wires, o2 sensor, braided steel oil meetering pump line, fuel filter, RC Engineering cleaned and calibrated the injectors All vacuum hoses replaced with silicone and zip tied. New twin turbos were installed in 2002 Cork sport carbon fiber air box, k&n filters, hard pipes, 3" downpipe and 3" peter ferrel exhaust. Power FC engine management Starter with 5k miles Drivetrain Mods (9k on the following): New urethane motor mounts, and Engine torque brace-damped, not solid one ACT HD clutch with 9lb flywheel and steel braided clutch line Tranny and differential fluids replaced with fully synthetic. Cooling Mods (again 9k): Fluidine aluminum radiator, redline water wetter Aluminum air separator tank Custom ducted the front bumper to the oil cooler Suspension Mods: Tokico illumina 5 way adjustable struts, with eibach springs R1 front strut bar Rotorsports Racing toelinks and trailing arms Replaced all rear pillowball mounts Rollers and Stoppers: BBS RGR 18x7.5 front 18x10 rear BFG g-force 275's and 235's (about 70-80%) Hawk HPS brake pads and Goodrige steel braided brake lines Paint and Body: Daytona blue mica paint (350Z) Feed 99 type front bumper with custom molded ducts to the oil cooler (bumper needs fiberglass work) 99 front turn signals and tail lights Racing Beat side skirts custom molded with enlarged side ducts Custom molded N1 rear flares and rear aprons 99 adjustable rear spoiler Interior: Good condition inside Defi boost gauge, Autometer oil pressure gauge Greddy turbo timer Momo shift knob Alpine cd/mp3 player, Boston Acoustics front speakers, MB-Quart rears, Kenwood 12" subwoofer powered by an Alpine V-12 amp (the sub box is not real pretty) Robin can vouch for me saying this is a very special FD. Given the front bumper needs work and boost flutters minorly(We think the culprit is a vacuum hose) I'm pricing it at 19.5k. Must see to really appreciate. These were the only pictures I have on my work comp. AJ |
Sorry guys, I hope the post won't to blow up this forum. Please PM me with any questions. If they are questions that every should know, I will periodically post a reply with answers to all the questions.
Thanks AJ |
