Me on the other had I ignore the problems as long as possible! Actually I am looking forward to this weekend to wrench a little bit. Get that front lip put on and relocate the battery...then smooth out the engine bay.

Well I'd like to be able to drive the car at night.
And i'd probably still be putting it off if I weren't going to VIR Sunday

Once the FD sells I can get to the rest of the problems

skizzle84 02-23-07 05:14 PM

yusoslo 02-27-07 08:27 AM

Just for the heck of it. I have some HKS Hyper 16 way adjustable coilovers for sale off my FC. The two fronts will need the rebuild kit. I was quoted 250 for both fronts. Rears are in great condition.

I put about 2k miles on them. previous owner had them for a year and a half.

Locally I will take 800 for them since these list new for 2200, they are a bit stiff but did great at the auto-x.

skizzle84 02-27-07 11:06 AM

...give me like 2 to 3 months, bj, and they're mine :)
but really, if they're still around at that time, I'd be very interested with cash on hand by then.

niburu 02-27-07 02:20 PM

Robin
how exactly does the blue end of the lighting harness get disconnected?
do i need to jam a screwdriver up in there to pop the clip
I definitely cant get my fingers in thee to do it

niburu 02-28-07 08:15 AM

On another note the FD got dropped off at All Car yesterday for a new clutch assembly, once it's out into autotrader it goes

grendel_2000 03-01-07 03:06 PM

Hey any of you all have an s5 automatic rear counterweight you would be willing to get rid of?

calypso 03-02-07 02:12 PM

hey guys, still alive. Had to go to the hospital again but I'm all good now I'm just really sore and can't get around all that well. On the plus side I'm pretty much over the pneumonia. Still have to use the inhaler and all that but other than that I can actually use my voice again :D I can't make it to starbucks tonight I don't think. Work is killing me and making me stay the weekend to get a server up and running....lovely.

Don't mean to sound like this, but did you check all of the fuses?!

rgordon1979 03-04-07 06:58 PM

Also, this stuff is free to anyone who will come get it. Nobody wants to buy it and I hate to throw it away.

niburu 03-06-07 05:54 PM

FD news
new clutch assembly, new release bering, new pilot bering done today
gets new state inspection tomorrow

niburu 03-07-07 08:32 AM

OOH and apparently there were a few bolts missing for the bell housing including one for the starter

yusoslo 03-07-07 09:20 AM

Don't worry Dave those really arent important. Think of it as a form of weight reduction.

Weight reduction is where its at. I removed my turbo to save 60lbs, and do you have any idea how much unsprung weight you save when removing the calipers and rotors.....DEM things is heavy!!!

niburu 03-07-07 01:56 PM

Get serious, removing all the fluid is where the real weight savings is at, wait till the next autocross you'll see, I'm gonna get rid of all the green stuff they put in the engine
I already got the tail light fluid drained out
I got lightweight electric supercharger from B&D I'ma put on too

yusoslo 03-07-07 04:23 PM

haha.

My fingers are still healing from installing Jaysons alluminum battery box, but the engine bay looks sooo good. It is seriously so empty you could put another rotary in there!

Now I just have to fill in all of the holes in the engine bay, smooth it out, and respray.
I'm thinking Satin black rino liner would look very nice.

calypso 03-11-07 04:37 PM

OK just curious...Niburu did you get wicked sick after Starbucks. Cause I've been either hugging the porcelain or sitting on it for the past 48 hours. I swear I'm bringing my own drinks from now on dammit >_<.
