not that I know of, I'm just saying that's what I'd do

I've been trying to figure what I could put in that big open space where the muffler used to be; NOS bottle, oil tank for dry sump system, repair kit?

Zach McAfee 02-12-07 04:49 PM

I want a 20" exhaust with 3" rims.

get a lot better life on them if you run SYNTHETIC blinker fluid!

cosmicbang 02-14-07 02:42 PM

Is there any reputable, inexpensive place around Richmond to get an automatic transmission rebuilt for a 94 Ford Exploder?

cafcwest 02-14-07 04:12 PM

Good friend just had a Suburban tranny done at Cottman and would NOT recommend.

getfast 02-14-07 05:34 PM

LOL I was involved with that process... and went to Daytona and back in said Suburban the weekend after he picked it up.

The transmission shifts just fine and has a great warranty, pricing seemed fair, but Cottman was a nightmare to deal with. They made everything right in the end, but not without a bunch of headaches. From what I saw, I wouldn't recommend 'em either.

Someone else recommended a place called Weaver's.

niburu 02-20-07 11:53 AM

Well I got my light switch and relay from Icemark
and some guage pod things are taken apart
time to read the manual on removing the light switch

yusoslo 02-20-07 01:00 PM

just take the screws off the under side of the cluster surround. pull back and from the inside you should be able to unscrew it.

if not I like the hammer and chisel method.....but that always required a vacuum cleaner afterwards.

niburu 02-21-07 08:52 AM

I'm trying to get it out far enough to to get a screw driver behind it
then I'll have to decipher the directions to install the switch relay for the running lights

yusoslo 02-21-07 09:58 AM

since we are on this topic. how do you get your lights to light up without popping up? I want to be able to drive with the lights shining through the FTP lenses. hopefully i just need a switch and splice in 1 wire, if not I guess a relay would be required.

niburu 02-21-07 10:21 AM

check Icemarks site I think they have a relay just for that

time's like this I wish I had a garage or at least a paved driveway or just some lights even

niburu 02-21-07 12:15 PM

so i went home at lunch and unscrew some more stuff, including the retaing screw for the light switch
What's the trick to getting it out?
Also looks like the harness connector got cooked, who would sell a connector I coud splice in? or is the harness unusable?

rgordon1979 02-21-07 03:40 PM

I think I have both connectors, I am headed over there in a few. I will give you a call.

niburu 02-21-07 04:23 PM

I'm just try to do this nice and smoove, not the usual "DAVE SMASH!!"hulk immitation

You could just pull the fuse in the engine bay, and keep the brights on. They get through alright.

Or, you could roll with the lights up properly shining, and rock jdm FTP bulb light lenses :)

Do you still want that turbo core, bj?

yusoslo 02-22-07 08:40 AM

naw I dont need the core. I got the wastegate to hold me over for a while, but I am looking at a 25g greddy turbo. 400 whp

skizzle84 02-22-07 08:45 AM

Alright, just checkin.

skizzle84 02-23-07 03:44 AM

Does anyone have any extra 5 lug 15" wheels they're willing to part with? I need spares.

yeah let me know, I'll call you later today
I should be gettingout early today and removing the whole cluster surround with the switches
I definitely need new connectors, probably the whole harness

yusoslo 02-23-07 09:10 AM

damn dave. its like a domino effect. Well at least you are doing it right instead of just putting bandaids on the problem.

Me on the other had I ignore the problems as long as possible! Actually I am looking forward to this weekend to wrench a little bit. Get that front lip put on and relocate the battery...then smooth out the engine bay.
