the back shouldn't take more than 30 minutes per side
the front might be 45 minutes per side if everything goes well

here, read this through, it was my write up when I did it
https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/installing-struts-my-experience-431698/
I didn't do it totally right but I learned alot
2 key things
a - the oem spring is NOT fully decompressed when you get it out, even when the shock is at full travel despite what I heard from 'some' people
b - you have to disconnect the front sway bar endlinks to get the front struts on (you've been spraing those too right...) NO WHERE does it say to do this in any manual but it's an absolute must
So keep on PB Blasterizing all the suspension bits and the clip that holds the brake line as well

You all can use the garage where I keep my car if you want. Plenty of tools there too.

I only charge $100/hour.....

Calypso PM RGordon and see if we can do this Thursday night
We could prolly get the whole thing done plus I can drop off the
endlinks Rgordon needs
If I was sure the top retaining nut would come off the rear shox
we could change the rear springs and shox out in the Starbucks
parking lot - can you imagine the crowd we would draw.

on entirely different note

vvvv Who is going to this? vvvv

The TII won't start, and I'm wondering if the crank angle sensor is shot. Anyone have a spare? I used to have a few but they all made their way to the can.

I need directions from somebody on where it's at, don't do fast food anymore (on diet currently) but pizza is fine.
Drove the FC back this morning with no problems other than the shifter now rattles - so I'm going to get all new shifter bushings and all the stuff thats supposed to go around it as everything has dry rotted away.
I'll load the FC tomorrow with some extra tools tomorrow just in case; disc grinder, safety glasses, leather work gloves, sledge hammer, floor jack, jackstands, crowbar, and I guess I should bring the spring compressors too.

Odds are the fuel maps are waaaaay off for crank still.

The CAS should be fine, I did do a lot of adjusting for the fuel maps at crank in an effort to get things started (thought it could have been an injector issue).

So, grab a hold of a stock TII map and reprogram it yo.

One of the maps (it holds up to 4) is the stock map still, either 1 or 4. I think it's on 2 or 3 right now.

Find the cable/dongle thing right?

I'm dumb to this stuff Joe. Give me a carb and distributor or a computer I don't have to edit and I'm alright.

I don't know how to get the saved programs off the dongle. I typed in a stock TII map when I first tried to crank. Everything was close to where it should have been. It did start when I had it pig rich but it wouldn't idle and the exhaust started to glow orange.

I'm installing the stereo tonight so I can sit in the driveway and listen to music.

No need for floor jacks or jackstands, there are plenty there, trust me! We will have to play musical cars as there are two cars in the garage right now, but it will only take a minute.

What time do you all plan on tackling this? I have to dedicate some time to the girlfriend since I am going to be out of town next week so I won't be there the entire time.

I am thinking about going down to Diniwiddie to run my car once or twice on Friday. I have never done it before, so I am not expecting anything stellar. I dont plan on staying too long. My friend has a (2002? whatever the last year they were made) SS and runs down there a lot. He said its $15 to run all you want from 3pm-9pm. I was just wondering if anyone was planning on going as well.

Anyone had experience with dash and light issues? I spent quite some time today trying to take all that crap apart, and replaced the window and light cluster swithches, as the old ones were burnt out and the previous owner had it ghetto-rigged. Basically, i've got my tails, front lights, and interior lights all working.. EXCEPT the damn light which illuminates all the gauges.

dashlight problem

Did the dashlights work prior to disassembling the cluster area? If so something is probably loose or disconnected. If not check the fuses and if that doesent help I have access to all the electrical diagrams for the car so it can be diagnosed and repaired. I doubt it is a set of cluster bulbs but when jarred old bulbs in a cluster do have a tendency to fail.

The confusing thing is my cluster(?)/instrument lights such as shift up, turn signals, and bright lights work, but not the bulbs behind each gauge(oil p., tach, fuel, etc). I switched around the bulbs to see if some might just be burnt out, but only those certain connections like shift up would work and made no difference which bulb was put in. eh hard to explain.

Download and print out the manual man

Hit a timing light on it while you crank?

Something else you may consider doing is just taking some of that fuel out at crank/idle.

What's the status box display when it's running but not idling? Sounds like it's just pissing gas in there. Pull the injector rails off, tie em down and do a leak test on the injectors? I'd think it's possible they could have been fubar'd with the 100% duty cycle :o

I replaced the primary injectors with the secondary injectors thinking that was the problem. I'll see if I have another set around here.

Anything will work really, say if you slapped in 460cc injectors instead of 550cc just to test things out, you'll just reduce the fuel values by 17%.

In theory.

Of course, that's really going to limit boost, but hell, the fact that it has compression, it's just off on timing or gas. :hs:

How's the fuel pressure at the rail?
