just call them, I did the same thing with Corksport last week, I had my old shipping address (my old job location) still in their system. One 5 minute call later - fixed, the folks at Corksport are really nice btw.

ya try to be helpfull....
I called the the guy out in Stuarts Draft putting in the transmission.
I didn't even mention the trans - just let him know that engine has prolly lost compression by now and how to do the EGI fuse trick to restart without flooding it.
He sounded less than enthused - I was trying to make his life a little easier.
I wonder if he even listened.

Fellas
The FD isnt starting. Sometimes it turns, sometimes it doesnt do anything. The volt meter is reading 11.8 the whole time. It's pretty inconsistant of when it will turn and when it wont. At first I just thought it was the ignition switch, but does that not make sense since it will turn over and still not start?
Pretty lost and pissed here guys. I live out in Westover Hills and will be in town this weekend.
Please PM me if you can run by anytime, any help will be appreciated!

That was a jab out of jealousy!

Niburu,
I take it you will not be at Starbucks tomorrow night?? I will have some spare time this weekend possibly. I have never had a FD though so I don't know how much help I will be.

Although, from what you said it sounds like it could be the starter solenoid not kicking into gear. You said when it does turn it still will not start?

When it does not turn can you hear a clicking noise like it is trying to engage?

Well when it doesnt turn, there is a slight clicking noise coming from behind the engine.
When it turns, it sounds like it normall does, making that 'puh' noise.
This is all showing me, that my knowledge of cars is a fraction of what i thought.

Sure it's not the starter motor itself? The clicking could very well be the starter solenoid...it's just that the windings in the motor have a few dead spots.

Whack it with a 5lb rubber mallet (starter casing) and see how it reacts.

well the FC aint ready so I'm getting coffee in the FD tonight
I have the unpainted FEED light cover on now
woot!!

Feeohh I would remove and clean every electrical connection involved in the starter circuit first, especially the battery
always go with the simple stuff first, also whacking the starter per Josepi's instructions is a damn good idea too

Joe, what the hell is a dongle?

"The software is free and is able to be downloaded here. You need to have the MicroTech dongle to be able to communicate with the ECU. "

I'm pretty sure it's either the serial port or some sort of switch that goes into the ECU.

BTW I got the microtech software to work under linux lol.

It's that thing between your legs man.

All fun aside, it's the cable running from the LT-8 out into the cabin. Biege/white cable, 9 pin male end iirc. I think I had it routed around the stereo.

If you can't find it still for some odd reason, the LT-8 is nested in the same place as the factory ECU, then just follow the cable out.

Actually, there's a small grey box on the end of that cable. Atleast their should be. That's the dongle thing.

I get home around 5:30 - 6:00. We could easily get the back springs changed out in an hour but the fronts take a bit longer. Do you really wanna change the springs in the dark though? (Dave has no garage) Also I still need my FC back since it has half my tools in it, supposedly it'll be done today, supposedly.
PM me your work schedule.
