tomorrow im going down the VIR for the AMA Superbike Race. that **** is going to be TYTE!!!!!!!

i went to vmp last night and ran the bike. the best i was able to pull was a 12.53 @ 104.3 mph. i know that sounds slow (for a bike) but the stock rating for mine is 12.37 with a pro rider, and ive never drag raced a bike before. i rode the front wheel off the ground off the line. i had one run where i accidentally popped the clutch in second and rode a pretty decent power wheelie some distance. my first run was a 12.89. i got my 60' down to 1.7. i was pretty pleased with last night.

if you are planning to retint that hatch...your best bet is just to finish off the defrost grid and deal without it...rather than replace the hatch...aftermarket window tint has teh nasssty habit of tearing defrost wiring off teh windshield and boy is it fun tryign to pay for a glass with it already on...

as for the pothole on staples mill...yeah, i've seen that haha i think my roomate nailed it with his celica once and bubbles otu a tire...

favorite on/off ramps in richmond: parham north to 64 east w00t!, 64west to parham north ahha, 64west to gaskins south, and last but certainly not least, 64 west to glenside ave ooohh what fun it is to fly through a nice s turn and slide out onto broad street at 3 am while the ricers that hang otu at sheets **** themselves

Just installed my B&M short shifter, man this thing kicks ***. It actually raises the shifter up (those of you who've been in/driven my car know that it feels like you're shifting at your feet) and it shortens the throw a substantial amount. Much more fun to drive.

The install wasn't too bad except for the retainer clip. That thing owned me and a couple friends for like an hour. I'm a happy boy though. The shifter was only $84 shipped due to a huge sale, gotta love it. Anyone else get anything new for their cars?

Btw, about staples mill onramps, my friend hit a humongous pothole getting onto 64 west from staples mill about a month ago. The pothole was right on the line, and he hit it and BOOM, 2 of the passenger airbags go off and the car shuts off (BMW's can't be started once airbags deploy). He had to get the car towed to BMW. Grand total: $4600. Luckily, BMW paid for it all. It bent a wheel and wreaked havoc on the suspension, but now all is well.

OK so the tire was done by Saturday morning, I parked it in front of the house, and now the battery is dead. I did get it jump started, ran it for a 1/2 hour and parked it at the top of the driveway - still has a dead battery, it's not taking a charge at all. There is a little round orange and white sticker on the side that says B-4/2-4, I assume this means it should have been replaced before February 2004. I had to slide the battery back to actually see the sticker for the first time.
-Anyway-
You guys have any recommendations of what battery to get and where?
This is the 3rd time the car has broken down at the house, very considerate of the car when you think about it.

Optima Red Top, I have one in my 88, on average I drive it once a month...cranks over like brand new even after a month of sitting in the car. Only time it died is when someone left the ignition on by accident (i keep it at a friend's garage). I jumped it, it took a charge and has not given me a problem since.

I am first going to try tightening up the alternator belt and take it on a good hard run, if that doesn't work I just may be down at CAP on Friday.

Hey Jayson what kinda of batteries? Something like decent like Interstate, I am guessing not Optima though. Hopefully you'll read this before I head down. On fuether inspection i saw that the battery was from Advance Auto so lord knows who the original maufacturer is.
The damn thing won't even take a charge now, I could not even jump start it yesterday.

The NASA autoX cancellation totally sux, I have friend from VMSC who trying to convince a friend of his to try out some autoXing who happens to have a very nice 90 TII.
The DEC.5 AutoX should be interesting, especially if it is cold people are gonna slide.

I actually pulled an Optima out a few weeks ago. Unfort for you, I resigned my almighty post at the yard of junk so I can't hook you up anymore.

And btw, from my experience, Interstates are NOT good batteries. One of the things I did there was go through all the batteries and clean up and charge the good ones. %70 of the Interstates were toast.

I have always bought my batteries new and the Interstates last WAY longer than anything else and I've run them way past there allotted time. I imagine this is the case with most people so by the time they get to the junk yard they are total toast.
I am considering looking for an optima because I am thinking of moving the battery to one of the storage bins.
Who sells Optimas in this town at reasonable prices?

They actually sell Optimas at Autozone now...at least the one a friend of mine works at in Colonial Heights. I would think they all would though.

Hey, just a note to you guys if you are interested.

The Hampton Roads rotary gang are going to be going to the sister place of G-force (American Indoor Karts - http://www.gforcekarts.com/index2.htm) on Nov 20th (Saturday) at 4:00 PM. Our recent meets seem to have about 20 people or so show up. We have their meeting room reserved and plan to have subs or pizza or something brought in. If any of you want to join the RX7 people from our area, you are more than welcome.

Check here for any more information:

http://rx7.meetup.com/55/events/

Feel free to PM me if you need directions or anything.

Wow, your new TII reminds me of my old GXL. Makes me want to cry, heh.

If there is a local meet soon, I'd be in for it.
