It will depend on how many open slots they wind up having, people always wind up cancelling at the last minute. So get there early. If you get to run 2 cars I believe you have to work 2 heats as well. Goto the website www.vmsc.org for the club rules and such.

Looks like I'm gonna buy an '88 GTU:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=323296 $800 with a motor that runs a little funky or $900 with a spare motor. I can't pick it up for a while so I offered the guy a down payment to hold it for me. I've been planning a restoration buildup and resale for a while, and I think this is a nice platform. http://members.cox.net/bluhayz/88gtu/DSCN8831%20(Medium).JPG http://members.cox.net/bluhayz/88gtu/DSCN8829%20(Medium).JPG http://members.cox.net/bluhayz/88gtu/DSCN8826%20(Medium).JPG |
i knew it seemed like the time for another rebuild...
what do you need 2 errxs for? |
hey everybody
i was wondering if anyone around here had a nice looking shell they didn't want? i need a straight frame and a dentless unibody. it also needs to be a manual and have a sunroof. i have an '87 TII, but some woman ran into the rear of my car and destroyed the rear quaterpanel, so i want to swap everything into a nice, straight body. let me know, very much appreciated. :) |
cafcwest might be able to help you could, ill direct him this way.
edit: apparently yall are friends, goodluck though |

heh, yeah, we're pretty good friends, and soon to be roommates in richmond. I just transferred to VCU from Tech and got an apartment with him and another friend.
anyway, thanks for the reply. any others? |
of course, my summer wouldn't be complete without a rebuild, hahaha
|
is anyone interested in having a meet-up sometime this week?

Man the autox today was so fun. I think my best was 52.xx but I felt like I was driving much better. It's amazing how much looking ahead helps hehe. Who's going next weekend?

I had way more fun than I thought I was going to running the Ghia at the autoX today, so it should make one more appearance and then my RX7's turn at bat for the last 2 events at VMP
0h yeah 68, 66, 65, and 64 seconds not bad for a 34 year old 65hp car and then during fun runs I let Posha drive 61.55 S.O.B !! |
This forum layout is crap, but I guess it works better than the old one.
Nice track yesterday. The slower I went, the faster my times were! 50.9 in my car and 54.7 in mikes car :) . |
Maybe the layout isn't crap. You can change the justification of the sigs and avatars in the options so it looks like the old setup.

autox was a blast. i dont know what my fastest clean run in my car, but it was 53.0 with missing second gear HARDCORE. im pretty sure i would of pulled a ~51 out of that run. i love the way your car is setup zach, just if your brake booster was working right it would of been better. no handling complaints at all. the first car ive driven and havent said "i wish it didnt do this".
im looking into gc coilovers now, i just dont know what spring rates to get. what are you running zach? |
The August 1 registration for Autocross is now open. Head on over before the list is full.

Brian, I took a bunch of pictures of your car too. Mike was gonna ride and flick off the camera as you drove around the last section, but it didn't work out. I was using the 5 shot drive function so I probably took 10-15 pictures of your car. |
sweet! I guess I'll spend the next 2 weeks trying to get rid of the bog down the Ghia has a launch, I know it running too rich. I have a new set of sway bars for it sort of, I have the front one and supposedly the rear is on the way (never had a rear sway bar when they made 'em) I got some nice video of someone spinning my car out in the fun runs.

Here are the pictures.
