questionable mechanic
hi y'all
I've recently bought my first rx7 and while it was waiting to go through inspection a mechanic dropped his card off. i was planning on taking it in to have him do some work on it, but i wanted to know if anyone has had him work on their car before. His name is Michael Quinn and he runs the shop, Unique Precision Rotary out of laurel Maryland. If anyone has any feedback positive or negative about this guy/place please let me know.

bodywork you will want a bodyshop, I cant see too many shops doing bodywork AND tune, most likely using outside people for one or the other.
I think its best you do some research before bringing the car to anyone for tune, bodywork anyone can handle for you.

your best bet for a tune, is to contact ErnieT he gets his car tuned over there so he can tell you all about them
your tons better off going to someone that people know and trust then to "try" out someone new

so you dont need a tune, you need a TUNE UP
I tried calling PFS 2 times when I was engine swap shopping, they would not even call me back, I can bet they would not want to be bothered with your 1987 either.
I would really suggest you get yourself a Hanes manual and read up a bit, a tune up is something you should do yourself so that you get acquainted with your car, it requires the most basic of tools and just dont touch any set screws or try to adjust anything under the hood.

That's true big shops like that don't have time for small jobs like tune ups.

honestly s4 n/a's are by far the easiest rx7 to work on, there just so simple
they have a stupid small rats nest
like 4 connectors
and everything is mechanical which keeps electronics to a minimum
i just recently banged out a direct engine replacement when i blew mine, if i did it all in one straight shot would have taken me like a half a day to R&R the engine
there fun simple and easy to work on, plus if you do some reading on the forums, everything that could possibly go wrong has been covered and probably has a writeup with pictures on how to fix it
enjoy it dude, there real fun
