Dont get bummed out yet bro. Its just starting to get nice right now so alot of people are holding off to see if we are getting anymore snow cause I wouldnt want salt to ruin some nice work. Im def down to be a customer, I just need to get some stuff cleaned up right now on the car.
Dont feel like everyone is bashing you. Most people are just saying that you offer some damn good pricing for the work involved. I will hit you up once Im ready.

you think we are bashing you, were trying to help you. You could make more money ( tons more actually ) working in a car wash drying off cars and have none of the liability that you have now.
in the end if you want to work for $75 a day you can come work for me anytime.

i just figured id have a few rx7 people come by.....throw on a few burgers bullshit a lil ...talk cars and make a quick $75 or $125...i am not trying to start a die hard business or make a **** load of money....just live a simple life....im happy with charging what i charge....i dont feel like im getting robbed in anyway....i dont see things like that....it is something i enjoy and i love meeting new people who share the same passion for cars....im not looking to work at a car wash drying cars all day....it was just a service i thought i could offer at my house and i figured people would be happy to hear such low prices....with this bad economy....but if every one rathers me charge $200 for a general and $275 for a full...i could also do that

oh was the pricing you mentioned in the first post just for the 7club people? Thats a great deal. You worded it so you sounded like that was how much you flat out charged.
either way its a great price, and people should really get on this.

Yea it probally was a little unclear...but im a pretty understanding guy so i usually work with what people could afford....i dont really turn down work ....i just charge what the job requires...so for bad condition cars that require more work the price will be adjusted....but i rarely get cars that are plain out destroyed with no hope...but this is club prices....so i figured rx7 = 75 bux lol i wanted to throw a seven in dere lol

That is great pricing!
Just for comparision I had a similar guy local to me that detailed on the side. He charged me $75 to detail (similar to above) a Trailblazer (I didnt get the clay bar etc). After i go the truck back, I gave the guy $175. What he did was worth more than that comparing it to other places locally.
Honestly a great detailer will charge a little lower price and let his/her client see the work and tip accordingly. Most folks that are willing to spend $100 to get a car detailed understand the value of quality work and will compensate for it.
I say two big thumbs up to you and good luck with it, I dont have the patience to do what you do!

Wow, that was definitely an old thread you found.
It's all about perseverence. Which is why i kept it as a side thing. I did it full time, and i didn't have enough time to juggle customers, full time job, hobbies etc. Now i work full time at SSR Wheels/Tanabe USA and do detailing for a few cars on the side every so often, and take care of my GT-R.
Also on the pricing: Bump it up, BUT offer the proper services and use the quality of products that warrant it. I charge anywhere from 150-400 depending on the work, etc.
Remember, the clients who pay top dollar for top quality services know what the going market rates for good work is. So, cheaper does not always draw them in. You have to walk a fine line of offering a FAIR price but also showing that you care for their cars and maintain a certain level of professionalism. In the end, customer does not care whether you are doing it as a business or on the side. (just helping you learn from my mistakes/experiences).
I wish you good luck. If you need any help, feel free to PM me.
