zmarko 05-15-04 01:49 PM

Ha ha. having used to work in the restaurant industry, I HATED seeing groups like that come in. Like 150 people just showing up. AHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! lol.

As for the food, I don't really care about it. Sure it would be nice, but definitely NOT necessary. Plus, even if it was there, it would be a hassle for one, two, or three people stuck cooking for a lot of the time, and not mingling. This meet IS about the cars, and the comraderie. This is going to be a fantastic meet. If people want food, I suggest what someone else just mentioned earlier, make a quick stop at a Wawa and pick up some snacks. :) Can't wait to see everyone.

Irish_in_a_RX8 05-16-04 08:58 PM

I agree with Senseny and Touring. Pitching in with chips, soda, prezels etc sounds like a better plan. I'll find something irish to take - green chips or something - Guinness Keg - ah, maybe next time! :-)

Wayne

Scrub 05-17-04 01:18 PM

Bob are you going to this? I am considering....I didn't feel like reading 7 pages so spare me and tell me where it is...hahaha :)

sectachrome 05-17-04 03:54 PM

fdr park-2:30 may 23rd

Scrub 05-17-04 04:58 PM

lol, same place I drove past lastime.

T2 Tsunami 05-17-04 08:23 PM

Once again, I will be attending this meet, hey Touring..any plans to get a caravan from this area together?...

Touring FD3S 05-17-04 09:10 PM

Lancaster/York area guys I sent you info again on the meet. If I missed someone, let me know. Also, there is a group from the coatesville area we will be meeting up with, you can contact rdavid about where you guys are meeting and when.

Also, Travis, don't go overboard. I will bring stuff and I will make someone else from my group bring stuff, so that way one person doesn't get stuck.

Ocelot 05-17-04 09:35 PM

We have a caravan going from the Lawrenceville area as well as Yardley area if you guys were interested:

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=305678

Senseny 05-17-04 11:02 PM

Touring, I won't go overboard. I will get something like 4 bags of chips, some dip, and 3 or 4 bottles of soda. No big deal.
Decay, I am PMing you. You are still coming down with me, right? Anyone else caravaning with me? I have a seriously unpopular thread regarding that.
So far it looks like 10 rx8s should be there. I am hoping for about 17 to 20 8s though.

Senseny 05-17-04 11:08 PM

A friend's friend may be coming as well with what I understand to be a heavily modded last generation Supra. I said it was okay as I would like to see his car and I know he wants to see ours. Hopefully no one takes offense to me saying okay to a non-rotary.

moehler 05-18-04 06:40 AM

bring him :).

Irish_in_a_RX8 05-18-04 04:06 PM

Dumb question but from 95 what is the best way to get to teh FDR. I have directions on the site but they are alittle vague....anyone?

Wayne

rxrotary2_7 05-19-04 07:43 AM

when you get off of 95 at broadstreet exit from north or south.... you will want to go up to about where the Spectrum is. the road will sorta split for people making a left onto patterson ave. make a left onto patterson and follow up to the 2nd entrance to the park. its right after the sweedish?? museum... from there, there is a few parking lots ahead twords the left. thats more likely where we will be.
if you came in the 1st entrance to the park. you will want to make a right at the *T* in the road as soon as you pull in. from there just follow the road around and the lots will be on the right hand side right after the memorial on the lake. you cant miss it. the park is one big circle....

Ocelot 05-19-04 11:41 AM

Um....what if it rains?

Luckefini 05-19-04 01:20 PM

Ill be there ... I havent been able to attend since the hooters meet and since the moved out past Coatesville. We should at least concider a rain date and if there is anyone in the Coatesville area who want caravan down let me know..

Irish_in_a_RX8 05-19-04 03:31 PM

It forcasts humid weather for that day with possible thunderstorms. I suggest making any last calls on Friday evening

Wayne

rdavidsrx7 05-19-04 04:34 PM

Alright the chester county crew/DE crew should all meet at the intersection of rt 202/lincoln highway (rt30 buisness)/ rt 30 bypass. There is a sheraton hotel there and just to the left of it is a park and ride parking lot. We should try to get there around 2and leave shortly there after. The lancaster guys will also be meeting us there so we may be a little late leaving there if they hit traffic or anything. We will then go north on 202 right to 76 east and right to FDR park.

Touring FD3S will be heading up the Lancaster portion, either him or I should be contacted if ya need further directions.

Later
Bob

RX7UP 05-19-04 04:34 PM

Sorry guys its raining that day............ Pick another day

*Edit: Contact me if this is still gonna happen with the address

Ocelot 05-19-04 04:52 PM

I say we wait until Friday before cancelling anything since weather reports can sometimes be a load of BS, they are more accurate as the day approaches, so make the decision as late as possible.

rdavidsrx7 05-19-04 05:09 PM

Stop saying "rain" everyone!
25% chance of t-storms, AKA passing storms, not like a front.

Bob

Edit: ok, well maybe it is a front, we should dtill hold back judgment till Fri if not Sat

moehler 05-19-04 07:55 PM

for the past three staight weeks its been saying 25 - 30% chance of thunderstorms, and it has rained only one full day. also, the weather reports have been changing daily. I say we don't worry about it unless it says 50% or more chance of rain (not passing thunderstorms) for sun on sat.

Irish_in_a_RX8 05-20-04 10:40 AM

Agreed. Last calls should be Friday night!

you guys sure you want to go that long ass route? taking i95 would be the fastest way since you will not hit any traffic. and it's a straight shot to the exit which is right at the park. 76 will be a guaranteed mess that day...everyday actually. maybe from your meeting point, go south on 202 to 322 east. that will take you to i95 north(in chester). from there, it's only about 15miles to the exit. or rt30e to i476s to i95n. basically AVOID 76 if you dont want to be stuck in traffic.
not sure about the rest of the DE guys but i plan on driving straight up i95.

Senseny 05-20-04 11:19 AM

I think last call on rainout should be Saturday not Friday. IMO we can all check here late Sat or early Sun for a no go. Saturday gives us a little better margin of error.

rdavidsrx7 05-20-04 02:23 PM

Jet, if you do not join the caravan I will never compliment you car again!...J/K, Going down 202 through all the traffic lights would be horrible on a weekend, the 76 route should be fairly clear and will take us only like 45 minutes while having no traffic lights to loose half the convoy at....but yes 95 would be simpler for you DE guys...but where is the fun in that?

Bob

Edit: and believe me, 76 is the shorter route for us

Scrub 05-20-04 02:27 PM

Jet, you don't know the craz ninja style of our convoys. YOU GOTTA cruise with BOB!!

jetfire76 05-20-04 03:03 PM

damn...forgot about the traffic lights...ok, carry on...

rdavidsrx7 05-20-04 04:04 PM

still ya should meet us there Jet, i mean, what are ya goin for the chips and dip?

Bob

Scrub 05-20-04 04:08 PM

Jet you can meet me at my house with everyone else and leave to meet up wtih bob if you want.

rdavidsrx7 05-20-04 05:23 PM

Remember....Motorollas to channel 7

Senseny 05-20-04 05:39 PM

It looks like 13 Rx8's are committed to the event and I am now not sure about the TT Supra.

Immanuelrx 05-20-04 06:13 PM

I have my freind's Supra coming to on meet with HKS twins installed (Dyno-QUEEN) with veil-side intake, etc, etc, etc, etc. Car is nice!!! As well as my Single turbo 3rd-Gen which is put together pretty nice my all by myself but not totally finished. My RX7 project took about three years to complete and has not been on the road much. It is a Garage-Queen!!!!!

I just had a my one of my new turbos rebuilt due to high oil pressure. I fixed the problem on the engine and the turbo is being overnighted from LA and will throw it on Saturday night.
I have a T-70 single turbo also that I need to get a smaller A/R for so I can throw that on later.

I will bring my Digital camera and my Film camera for pictures. And pictures of my car as I will be putting it up for sale soon to invested into my business.
So I hope to see everyone!

Manny

invictus_92 05-20-04 06:37 PM

T70!!! Isn't that a little big for the garage? LOL Seriously though, what do you plan on doing with that thing?
I don't know why my screen name is screwed up but this is Silver7

thefeez 05-21-04 09:01 AM

My 7 has a large open space where the motor belongs...and is covered in primer. I'd still love to go though to see everyone and everyone's cars and get ideas for where I'd like to see mine go. So long as an RX isn't ur ticket in the gate, I'm game for Sunday.

Scrub 05-21-04 10:00 AM

I thought this was a 7 meet not a 7 and supra meet....

rdavidsrx7 05-21-04 10:32 AM

his car can double as a porta potty...hahaha
j/k
Bob

Senseny 05-21-04 11:16 AM

The guy with the Supra that was coming with me apparently won't be coming up, so I think only Manny's buddies Supra will be there. I don't see an issue with a couple people who want to check out the rotaries coming with their piston engined vehicles. Plus we'll show em who's boss.

Scrub 05-21-04 01:21 PM

Tony Danzas Boss.

rdavidsrx7 05-21-04 02:27 PM

Angela, Samantha, Mona.....
where the hell is this thread going?

ladyRx7 05-21-04 09:29 PM

hey ppl... new to THIS forum will be there sunday w/ hubby 95nracer!! can't wait

Irish_in_a_RX8 05-21-04 09:32 PM

Scrub, its a Rotary meet with other cars welcome to wish they had one...:-)

Hey be nice! he is a good freind of mine;) He has a really done up HKS twins Supra. But I fogot to say that he's had a 1993 CYM RX-7 for a couple of years and sold it. He is a nice guy and loves other cars.

Manny:)

Ocelot 05-21-04 10:20 PM

Just wondering, did anyone check out if there is some sort of permit required to do what we are planning? Wouldn't want any law trouble.

Irish_in_a_RX8 05-21-04 10:40 PM

Its a public park...unless we plan to cause a problem, we should be okay!

ladyRx7 05-21-04 11:19 PM

yea as long as we are not rowdy... it'll just be friends hanging out... no law breaking in that

Scrub 05-22-04 01:10 AM

okay as long as your friends car has a ROTARY!! didn't mean to offend the Rx-8 guys :)

zmarko 05-22-04 12:58 PM

Well, it looks like the weather is going to be fantastic tomorrow. I'm still attempting to get off work, do you guys know how long you're gonna be hanging at the park? (My guess is a few hours).
