Senseny 04-19-04 03:37 PM

Dan's driving one of my cars (we will see which one--depends how nicely he speaks of me here--J/K). So thats 2 cars for me, I know a person or two who may want to tag along with me. I will let you know about that.

Decay 04-19-04 10:05 PM

How's this? :flipoff: :moon:

So, which one do I get to drive? ;) :p:

You da MAN!

Senseny 04-19-04 11:17 PM

LMAO, for that you can drive the 8 down to the meet and the 7 back, or vice-versa, or whatever.

rxrotary2_7 04-20-04 07:04 AM

bmurray 04-21-04 08:54 PM

If I have my car by then I'll try to show up.

Immanuelrx 04-22-04 08:26 AM

Hey guys!!!
It has been three years since my Rx7 has been outfrom the project state. It is finished enough to make it for the meet.
I will also bring my friend that has a fully worked HKS Twin Turbo Supra that is making Dyno Queen power.

Senseny 04-22-04 09:37 AM

Immanuelrx, was it your car at the shop at the corner of Lincoln drive and Mt Pleasant Tues (I think--could have been Monday)? I saw a blue FD that looked badass there as I was turning on to Lincoln Drive. I would have stopped but I was running late to a meeting. If that is your car, I can't wait to get a good look at it at the meet.

Senseny 04-22-04 10:28 AM

I just posted about the meet on the 8 forum. As I start getting responses I'll update you guys here so that the count stays accurate.

Wow!! Small world!!! That was me!!!!:) And I was at my freind/owner of the shop where I do performance upgrade installs as a side thing into 300zx TT, Supras, Rx-7, S2000, etc.

Manny

Senseny 04-22-04 01:06 PM

Manny, we met on Lincoln Drive before I think, you were driving a buddies red FD, I have the black R-1 with silver stripes, FMIC and Greddy exhaust. We spoke a bit up on City Line Ave. Looking forward to really making your acquaintance at the meet.

Touring FD3S 04-23-04 12:05 PM

Keith, Wayne contacted me from the 8 forum, and he thinks he can get 10 - 15 together, so I think it will be safe for us to plan for 50-60 people. I doubt 60 will show up cause some always back out, but if we aim that high at least people won't be left out. If you want to go ahead and just get enough meat and buns for that many people, I think we can rely on some people to bring "accessories" :) such as chips, pretzels, etc. It also might be a good idea if you can pic up the drinks, or else I can get that. I plan on being there a little before the actual arrival time, but that also is based on my area's caravan.

As far as money and such, that is something we can work out once you have a more realistic idea of the cost.

Irish_in_a_RX8 04-26-04 01:54 PM

The Tri-State Club have now a webpage advertising the event for our members, inc all the forum talk.

http://www.rx8tristateclub.com/rx8meet_may23.asp

I hear there are caravans of folk meeting in diff areas. - i'll list that info soon as I see it posted here.

All the best
Wayne

Touring FD3S 04-27-04 10:42 PM

maybe i need to bring along HELLO MY NAME IS labels and we can all put our forum name on :p:

Still waiting to hear from Keith on the food thing. I want to help out if I can.

lol, that wouldn't be a bad idea since hardly anyone goes by their own real name.

Also I got a caravan schedule down for North Jersey/PA here:

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=299995

Touring FD3S 05-05-04 02:12 PM

Just to clear up any possible confusion, and to move this back up, you can bring whoever. I was just trying to get a head count with the list. By no means is that a set list for people to abide by.

Little over 2 weeks left!

rxrotary2_7 05-05-04 04:39 PM

also, we may have a slight problem.... i drove through the park yesterday and looked for the grills... i didnt see any there. :(

Touring FD3S 05-05-04 08:20 PM

I know I can probably get a little one. Nothing that will cook for 50 people, but we use it for tailgating and shit. I also assume that there are more people than me that can get ahold of something like this. So any FCs (more room :p: ) or even anyone that can bring a grill, please post and let us know.

moehler 05-05-04 08:34 PM

that sucks :(. there might be grills at fairmount park on the west side. I'll go over there this weekend or next week and see if there are any areas with parking and grills.

*edit* assuming that if fairmount park has grills and parking, people don't mind the location change.

Senseny 05-05-04 11:57 PM

Just my .02, take it or leave it. I think the event should stay at FDR. We can bring some chips, dip, beverages, cookies, whatever. I am coming to meet everyone and see your cars. I am not that worried about eating. Even shit for hoagies or sandwiches wouldn't be all that hard, and someone wouldn't have to worry about being the cook. There are park benches down there, right? I don't know what everyone else thinks, but this spot is pretty central and we are looking at a good turn out already. I wouldn't change the spot.

rxrotary2_7 05-06-04 05:21 AM

i say stay at FRD but wouldnt mind changing to FMP.... if there wasnt a damn Phillies game i know i could get a nice section of the wachovia parking lot and get a nice huge grill to bring outside.... but with the game, it makes it kinda hard....

moehler 05-06-04 06:40 AM

I know this is a long shot, but what about having the meet on Sat the 22nd? no phillies game...

rxrotary2_7 05-06-04 08:27 AM

it would have to be earlier in the day foe sure.... there is a WWE Live wresteling event at 7:30 (6pm doors) and Dragon Tales at 10:30am (9:30 doors) and a 2pm show. (1pm doors).
parking will be minimal for dragon tales shows, but still a hassle aranging the parking attendents to allow all rx7's and 8's in for free....

rdavidsrx7 05-06-04 10:19 AM

just leave it when and where it is, we will find a way to accomodate and like Trav said....it's about the cars, the food is just a bonus.
Just my opinion.

Bob

moehler 05-06-04 10:26 AM

sounds good to me :D.

HotWheel 05-07-04 01:47 PM

Like I said on the 1st page

Please read my Idea for a park or place
on the 1st page of this thread !

No Ball games, No problem Parking,
No problems !
and they have cookers !;)

Just my 2 cents !:D

Irish_in_a_RX8 05-07-04 08:36 PM

If you guys are going to change location please let the Tri State Club know..at least a week or so before. I think FDR is fine....it might be easier for everyone to bring a food item and have it all sit at bench or something...

I agree with some of the other guys. I think that if we change the date now it may cause confusion and frustration.

Maybe next time we can meet at a park where there is less going on (games, children events, etc.). Being that I just moved here from VA I can't really suggest any parks. I have only visited a few of them in my area so far. I do know that French Creek State Park is very nice.

http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/statepar...enchcreek.aspx

Although, I think it is probably way to far of a drive for the guys coming from NJ and DE.

Rx7Roadster 05-08-04 12:17 PM

I agree. If you change the location now then a lot of the people that want to come will not know it will be changed and it will cause a lot of confusion. If anyone wants food then they should bring it themselves. I am thinking about bringing a small grill and some food. I havent decided yet though.

nopistons94 05-12-04 09:37 AM

so whats the deal ?? still in same spot ? and amp , do you want to drive down with me or .. ? PM me on nopistons.com about it

Senseny 05-12-04 06:21 PM

Please make a decision soon if we are keeping this meet as is because I wanna try to organize a caravan from N/NE Philly and the northern suburbs and I also have to report to the rx8 forum what the deal is. My vote is to keep it the same, but I am not going to consider it the same until one of the senior members (or the organizers) post that it is the same. Let me know. Thanks.
Travis

Touring FD3S 05-12-04 08:35 PM

Yeah, we are keeping it the same time (May 23, 2:30pm) and the same place. Even though people keep posting about different places, this is staying at the same spot to avoid confusion.

Just PLEASE check back in the next few days on food info. I would like this to be a bbq, and for that we need to have food. I will discuss with Keith what is going to happen for that.

If anyone has a little portable grill you are willing to bring, please let me know. I am gonna try to bring my friend's so we can get this rolling.

Senseny 05-12-04 09:08 PM

Thanks Touring, I will get a thread started for RSVPs on the 8 board so we can get an accurate count from over there and I will get threads started on both boards for a caravan from my neck of the woods.

jetfire76 05-13-04 09:45 AM

ok...i've been out of the loop since the last philly meet @FDR. i'm too lazy to read 5 pages of posts so can someone tell me the details of this meet? where? when? what to bring? activities?

a big "wussup!" to Keith, Dan, Kev, Jim. havent seen u guys in forever...

-jet-

rxrotary2_7 05-13-04 10:17 AM

whats up Jet?! ok, to fill you in... it will be at your house at 6pm tonight. :D :blue:

rxrotary2_7 05-13-04 10:19 AM

j/k. its sunday the 23rd of this month at FDR starts at 2:30 to avoid traffic from the 1pm Philles game. same lot i guess....

jetfire76 05-13-04 10:32 AM

hehe...cool. that's my birthday weekend! ok, same lot. make sure everyone knows to drive IN the park...not just around the block, then see nobody and get frustrated then go home ;)
oh and can someone be so kind as to bring a football or frisbee so we can atleast be somewhat active. hot chicks would be nice too :D

-jet-

edit: holy shit! just browsing through the thread, i see the head count...OMG!! keith, would you consider this to be the largest turnout for a philly meet? IIRC, our last FDR meet was a grand total of 8 peeps and 5 cars. lol!!!

Ocelot 05-13-04 02:47 PM

If your leaving from the Central/Northern Jersey or Yardley area, check this out for caravan info:

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=305678

Touring FD3S 05-14-04 09:14 PM

K guys, I talked to Keith about the food, and this is what it is the scenario.

Since we don't have grills and getting grills seems like a troublesome task, burgers, dogs, etc look like they might be out of the picture. Some have said this is all about the cars, so forget the food. I am all for that, but if some people still feel food would be good, then we can do little stuff like drinks, chips, pretzels and other shit like that.

Please chime in people and let me know what you are thinking. As much as I set a date and time, this is not about what I want, but everyone else, so let's hear some ideas.

Senseny 05-14-04 11:11 PM

Pretzel, chips, cookies whatever. I'll stop at WAWA and grab a few jumbo bags of snack food. Along with some soda or iced tea (I will try not to forget cups). Maybe some other people can volunteer to bring a few items.

rxrotary2_7 05-15-04 06:01 AM

ill bring the cups. :)
guys its not that i dont want to bring the food, its that there is no place to cook it.... i cant see people bringing grills from far away with charcoal and lighter fluid and all that. i cant believe the grills are not in the park this year. :(
