Flushing Meadows Park - Address and Directions
This week the email has come in asking for a Flushing Meadows address. Folks from out of town just don't realize how big the park is, much bigger than Central Park, but here are a few tips.
Flushing Meadows is in Corona and Flushing, two neighborhoods of Queens, New York.
Public transportation is the best way to Flushing Meadows. Take the #7 subway or LIRR.
Google Map of Flushing Meadows.
Directions to Flushing Meadows from the major highways.
Most buildings in the park don't have a real address. They just use the park's name.
Shea Stadium's address is useful, but most park activities are south of Shea and Roosevelt Avenue:
Shea Stadium, 123-01 Roosevelt Ave, Flushing, NY 11368
The park's center is the Unisphere -- a giant, steel globe that's easy to spot.
Most concerts and festivals in Flushing Meadows are held on a stage just south of the Unisphere, including this weekend's Billy Graham Crusade.

Flushing Meadows Park Meet
Hey Everyone,
Just bringing this thread back up and to let everyone know that this meet is still on for next weekend.
Jason will choose a spot in the park earlier this week and post the location along with directions, so please keep an eye on this thread.
We will be doing a BBQ and taking out pictures and so forth.
We would like everyone to show up around 12pm. If anyone wants to cruise in with a caravan, please let us know and I am sure that something can be arranged.
Please bear in mind that this meet was posted on 5/15/06 and the grand opening of function 7 was posted on 5/23/06. I do encourage everyone to attend ether this meet or the gathering at function 7, regardless of what year RX you drive and what condition its in. The weather should be good, the present forecast for sunday is high 70's with no rain.
We would appreciate it if people could bring snacks or food to throw on the grill. Below are examples of what you can bring if you would like to bring something. If you are going to bring soemthing, please post what you are bringing.
Corn
Chips and snacks
Soda
Water
Hot Dogs
Bread
If someone can bring a frisbee or dodgeball or even a voleyball it would be great as we all had a good time throwing a frisbee around last time at the Valley Stream meet.
I look forward to seeing everyone there for the meet.
Regards,

The one off the LIE has the bigger parking lot too we use to meet there all the time
i had a few pic's from previous rotary meets we use to have there but i cant find them right now but that would be a better choice the only thing with Flushing Meadow PK is that you have to keep your hoods closed we had the Parks police harras us a few times for having our hoods open but it's a nice spot & Forest Pk would be good for future meets too dont want to wear our welcome out

Hey everybody. Im glad most of you are still planning on attending this meet. Its unfortunate that function 7 decided to do this on the same date considering we posted our date first and the owner showed up at our last meet to pass out flyers and promote his shop. Im not putting anyone down they seem like cool guys, but its just kinda ignorant/grimey planning.

The meet is June 4th. Now Flushing Meadows is a big park so i will set up a spot where we can meet outside the park and then we will all drive into the park together cuase the park is BIG.
So im looking at either 111th street to meet up.
Coming From Westchester/Bronx or Jersey Direction Find your way to Grand Central Parkway Exit 10 towards Queens Midtown Tunnel then you make your first right and thats 111th street.
If your coming from Long Island take LIE to Grand Central, Cross Island Expressway to Grand Central and get out same exit towards Midtown Tunnel
OR Stay on LIE get out at exit 22A and follow Sautell Street which turns into 111th Street
Ill post pics and more info. Ima go later today, have mad stuff to do since i got back from vacation.
I still gotta fix my cars wiring and do my exhaust ttyl

this event that thier having on june 4th is a celebration of thier dream comming to fruition, not a promotional stunt to attract new customers
dont missunderstand and think that my post on here was to "steal" ppl away from your meet, i just figured it might be nice to invite you guys to come have some fun with my friends and I. when i noticed that jason had already planned a meet for the 4th i PM'd him and asked him if he would like to move his meet to function 7, he agreed and posted it here. there was NOTHING grimey about the way that was conducted. most of your group would rather go to the park, and thats cool, i just wish i could be at both meets at once. mabye we'll see you guys at another meet sometime soon.
