No NJ Emission Inspection <1995 Cars

Don't know whether this has be discussed, but as of May 1, 2016, there will be no more
emission testing of 1995 and older cars.

That's great, NY has been doing this for a while. If only the rest of the states would follow this...

Word of caution, until you get the card from nj stating you're expect, police will likely pull you over for it. Those words are from the dmv and inspection stations. Anot officer won't know what a 94 vs a 96 is

I assume you'll still need to go through inspection, no sniffer, but if everything in order,
receive a new sticker which would indicate current registration/inspection so it could
be viewed by the police.

Jealous!!

Connecticut is still 25 years for emissions exempt status... however at 21 years it can be registered as Classic status. Go figure.

Leave the inspection sticker on until the mo/date then remove.
Keep the following in the glove box for reference:

Consider yourself lucky, we're still here paying absurd real estate taxes and through the roof
car insurance because we choose no threshold which amounts to double the normal cost.
