Interested in taking part in a 1500 mile, 3 day road rally through all 6 states of New England?

On Friday October 6th, 2006 we will take you on a poker style road rally that will cover nearly 1500 miles of New England country side. We will take you through all 6 states of New England over the course of 3 days and we will bring you through some of the most beautiful scenery New England has to offer.

Thanks to Rocky Mountain Tracking those not running with us in the rally will be able to track the rally cars live in 2 second intervals on our website.

FAQ

Is the New England rally a time/distance rally? How crucial is the time factor in the rally?
No. The New England Rally is a poker style road rally where teams travel to different checkpoints and draw a card in hopes of forming the best poker hand while promoting New England businesses.
This doesn't mean we won't toss in some twists to keep you on your toes along the route.
Time is not a factor at all. You will be given a realistic time frame to arrive at each checkpoint by driving the speed limit.
Again, this is NOT a race.
We do ask that you travel directly to each checkpoint though seeing that we will have people there waiting for you to arrive.

*What is covered in my $500.00 entry fee?
The $500.00 entry fee covers the food and entertainment at the starting event, accommodations at a luxury resort Saturday night, dinner Saturday night, breakfast Sunday morning, food and entertainment at the ending event, a rally pack that you will receive at each checkpoint and an experience you be ready to repeat.

All you need to worry about from the time you arrive Friday morning is gas, drinks, tickets and snacks while driving. The rest is on us!

*Can I have passengers that are under 18?
No I'm sorry, but for a number of reasons all participants must be 18 years of age.

*Can I have more people in my car than just a driver and co-driver?
Absolutely! Each passenger is considered a co-driver and for an additional $250.00 you can bring as many people as your car is equipped to carry.

*I'm entering as a motorcycle team. Can I enter with 2 people on 1 bike?
No. For safety reasons we request that you ride with a partner along side of you. You will be requested to check in at checkpoints together.

*I'm entering as a motorcycle team. Can we have passengers on our bikes?
You're crazy, but yes. As long as you have a partner to ride along side of you you will be able to bring a passenger. Use the additional passenger link and make sure you put the both names of your team in the notes so your passengers can be added to your team listing.

*What are the details on the $5,000.00 job offer? Is there more than 1 cash prize?
There are NO cash prizes. The poker hand is being played strictly as a friendly poker game to for entertainment purposes and bragging rights only.
(Advertising salary based on number of entrants reaching 50 teams. If less than 50 teams enter the salary will be 1/5 the total of entry fees received at $500.00 per team.)

The $5,000.00 will be offered as a 1 year salary for a position as a New England Rally advertising/representative to the team that draws the best poker hand if they choose to accept it. They will be asked to display a 3"x3" sticker on the back of their vehicle and promote the New England Rally when ever possible.
Unfortunately I can't afford to offer everyone that enters the rally an advertising position yet, but I can offer it to 1 team and what a better way to decide who to offer the position to?
There will be awards for different categories, but none of them will be cash offers.

*How many people have entered so far?
Keep an eye on the participants page for details.

*I'm psyched for this!! How do I sign up??
Look below! Decide if you want to place a deposit or pay for your spot in full and click the button.

*I don't have a credit card or debit card can I send a check?
Absolutely. You can send a check or money order to New England Rally - 235 Bell St. Manchester, NH 03103 made out to New England Rally.
I suggest you E-mail me first and let me know to expect it.

And this is my favorite one:

*It seems someone is going to pocket some cash. $500x50=$25,000.00-$5000=$20,000.00 left over.
Do you really think that this event is going to be free to put on? Lets just say that the entry fees do not nearly cover the costs.

If you can tell me how to do all this for free please speak up.

Feeding 125+ people 4 times, lodging for 125 people, 3+ bands for 2 shows in 2 different states, motorcycle stunt team, insurance, location use fees, permits, clean up, traveling to and scouting spots for use, bumper stickers, banners, t-shirts, website hosting, video recording, video production, and the biggie... radio advertisements (just so you know a cheap radio slot in prime time is about $5,000.00 a week.)

Now.. If by some miracle I do manage to cover my costs by getting sponsors the proceeds will be donated to Big Brothers and Big Sisters organizations local to the towns we use.

So in short. No nobody is going to make money off this.

Just trying to spread it around, i should be going on this in my FC aslong as weather permits
