Need to move an FD from NYC to FL... Ideas??

Tags and insurance are expired. on top of that i have to take more things that i am sure will not fit in the trunk.. i have some boxes my TV and crap like that.. Not that i am cheap or anything. but i just checked with Uhaul and the are looking at 1400 bucks. some one please tell me that they know a friend at uhaul that will hook me up for a case of beer or my first born. im trying to get it done before the bad weather sets in, up in NY .. which i believe is coming up soon.
anyone know a good options...

Thanx.

I'm pretty sure there's an auto train that moves cars from VA to FL...

That's about all I know though.

My bro used it to move his Acura down to FL. We drove to VA or Maryland or whatever, put that bitch on the train, got on the train and went the rest of the trip.

The train ride sucked terribly.

Yea Amtrack will allow you to put your car on the train as long as you ride along.

You can also try Fedex. http://autotrans.fedex.com/

yeah i tried the train thing before.. it did suck plus my FD was too low and i shipped it anyway and the bumper got cracked up .. so i had to take the bumper off which sucked more... when i took the train back . and i need to get to gainesville which is about 2 hrs from orlando.. plus like i said . i have a lot of thigns that i need to bring down here and i dont want tto make multiple trips.. the end result to me is that i get it towed because its not registerd.. as i try to think of options.. nothing seems to come to mind other than renting a truck.. which i dont want to do ..

You might check with an enclosed auto mover.

I have used InterCity Lines and was very pleased with the service. They also currently have a special to move from New England to places warm (http://www.intercitylines.com/snowbird_spec.cfm). They will allow you to pack the car full as long as the mover can get in the driver's seat.

Another mover is Horseless Carriage (http://www.horselesscarriage.com/). I have never used them but they move a lot of high end cars (saw them unloading a F360 today).

Also, they both insure the car and InterCity Lines was very maticulous about checking the car before and after to make sure it was not damaged.

I'd go with what Ramy said! FedEx all the way!

FedEx Custom Critical Passport Auto Transport, Inc.
37 Progress Parkway
Maryland Heights, MO 63043
Phone: 800.325.4267 Fax 314.878.7295

They transported my 93 from FL to VA for only $862.50, and that was in an enclosed trailer!

Oh, and I wouldn't worry about their customer satisfaction, as they transport/ed cars for the Barrett Jackson auction. Check out the FedEx website for details.
