Well today a few of us club moderators went up to Bear Mountain to scope out the area.
And after careful consideration we feel that we should be arriving at 8am or so to Bear Mountain.
The park is quite popular and we would like to ensure that we get picnic tables and are able to park in teh first parking lot, adjacent to the lodge.
Directions are posted on our website. www.nyrotary.com.
It does'nt take long to get up there. We left NYC and drove the speed limit 55mph all the way up there and got there in 45 minutes with no traffic. So dont say its too far, its actually very close to NYC.
So i know some people are going to flake cuz its not in NYC and its "Upstate" But in all honesty its a nice wonderful drive.
Here are some pics to prove it
ALex and Josue told me they were going to be bringing non rotary vehicles and i was the only one in the truck =(.
It was a fun day today, we were on some nice twisties, thanks alex, but you forgot, i had a truck , every 1o seconds im almost flipping over.
Props: To my girl for taking the ACTION pictures =)

hey just checking in, im still most likely gonna be there with the FD. and im not much of an eater, so im not sure what u want me to bring lol.
the only problem im having is that my replacement parts havnt came yet so it sucks i have to show up with a Fd with a missing front emblem (someone stole it) and the stock black strip on the front bumper (guess u can call it the lip?) was broken on the side from a damn beaver. so should i still come? lol

Well its almost about that time. Bear mountain meet is in full effect.
Due to no / little response to the food list, everyone is in charge of there own food. We will have two grills and coolers. So you can use the grill to make your own food.
We have about 25 cars or so at this time that are planning to attend the meet.
Do note the parking lot 2, $6 entrance fee per car.
The meet will begin at 9am.
Do note there is a caravan leaving NYC at 8am sharp. The direction are posted on www.nyrotary.com. Meet up location is 92nd Street and Astoria Blvd in East Elmhurst Queens, 11369.
The caravan is the BEST part of any meet. So please join us. Suck it up and wake up early. Dont use HIN /Nighshift as an excuse. I will be attending both events (HIN/Bear MTn).
Remember this is for you UPSTATE NY Guys so ya have to represent. We want to show ya that we got love for you guys outside of NYC.
So we will hold another meet there next year, when you guys that attend spread the word and we get an ever bigger following.
The NYC / LI meets started with 7 cars now were up to 44 cars. So the upstate spots will start off small, but once ppl know we REAL, the meets will get bigger. And participation works great!
So hook it up and see ya there
HEADS UP: Our last meet will be September 17th at the Flushing Meados Park in Queens NYC. This has become a very popular spot for the meets, so we want to hold a close to home meet before the fall officially starts and rotarys begin there winter project / storage phases.
The new college semester starts for me, so i will still be available but not as much as i have been this summer (2006).
Just some of the NYRA Guys!
