dude, **** streetports! no offense Andy, but just go big and do a HBP. everyone talks about anything BP being unreliable which is the biggest load of crap ever. i would DD a BP any day, you just need a good tune.

bp is for *****'s that don't want to go pp lol j/k. theres nothing wrong with street ports, and you can have extend or monster street ports.
theres some problems with bridge porting a motor, even more problems come when you J Port them. your corner seal's life wont be as long but you will make power. iam not bashing you if you want a bp motor. just for me i couldn't afford the chance of having to do a rebuild more often then with a street port. also even tho our cars in mass dont have to pass emissions any more this year, we cant have our exhaust sound go over the legal limit . with a bp this becomes harder. a friend of mine had a TII BP and the muffler he had to run so he didnt get tickets all the time chocked up his car.
standard
street port
Extend Port. monster street
Bridge Port
J or Monster Port
Peripheral Port

if i have to rebuild my motor i will seriously consider a half bridgeport. i have been thinking about that. i would consider maybe even in a year or two cracking it open and adding the bridges. i agree though christian. bp is the way to go. although i can notice a pretty big diference with the streetport even. it suckssssss i boost creep like a ****! not sure about the s4 turbo with the ported wastegate yet. almost back together, i'll find out tomorow probably.

meh, i would bridgeport, but i want this to WORK on the street and not last 2k miles...
nope, mild streetport thanks... i do want this to LAST.
besides, id like to attempt to see a tiny itty bit of fuel economy in it. even its only 20 mpg highway under boost.

----Does anybody want to help me remove the rats nest on my s5 tii? I'd prefer somebody with experience so I don't remove the wrong stuff etc. Every write up on here sucks *** and everybody has a different opinion on what to remove and what to keep.
-I'm keeping hot start, I'm keeping the throttle body unported. It's a useful system. Same with BAC.
-The po of my car removed the boost control solenoid and now I'm under boosting. I'd like to REINSTALL that.
-The po of my car removed the air pump but NOT the acv. I'd like to remove the ACV and the lines that the acv uses, just the lines the acv uses, and nothing but the lines the acv uses.
----When removing studs, is the "double nut method" the method of screwing 2 nuts onto the stud, and than trying to loosen the interior nut hopefully taking the stud with it? I'd like to remove the studs that the power steering and ac compressor used to mount on my block. Could I just use a pair of locking pliers and clamp down on the stud and than loosen it? Should I than thread a bolt to cap it off or should I just leave it open?
----How hard is it to swap from a depowered power steering rack to a manual rack? My power steering rack has been depowered and crimped and crunched the **** out of by the previous owner. I'd like to swap to manual for simplicity and one less fail point in my car. Also the tidyness of not having a bunch of retarded crimped lines in my engine bay. Is it worth it to go through the trouble to remove the power steering computer? Where can I find this computer?
The faster I can get this car in the state of no loose ends the faster I can get to making it into the car I want it to be. I refuse to start doing turbo upgrade and **** until this car runs right, runs reliably, and runs on the least amount of non-essential parts.

double nut FTW
Manual rack FTW. really easy swap, just make sure to get an alignment afterwards.
Emissions block off plates FTW. look into them. i could help you with the rats nest if you want. are you keeping the AWS? if it's not already gone, get rid of it.

And blocking off the ACV is the easiest part, it's running all the new fuel lines and vac lines that I want help with. I think I'm going to go try the double nut method right now....

Ya I do have your #, how about next friday before the meet? I dont have a blockoff plate or any vacuum caps or anything though. Do I need anything more than just an s5 rack? Do you think that install meet in Brighton will do my manual rack/emmissions removal?

yeah, if you waited for the meet in birghton i'm sure you could get all those things done without any problems. i would wait until then for the manual rack, it'll be much easier on a lift.
next friday should work
