Not a bad side effect if you ask me
My friend Chuck is on his way to Lime Rock as I type this with his white 87 FC in tow. This is his first track day in a car,and he hopes to get the O.K. to run on saturday. If so I will probably go out there to watch him,or maybe even if he isn't running I may go out to spectate.I will most likely bring my 79 GS,and hopefully next year I will participate in some events. It has been probably 5-6 years since I ran with COM,and I do miss it.It is probably a 3.5-4 hr ride for me out there, but if it is a nice day I will look forward to taking the GS out for the last drive of the season.

He was haulin in that STi at LRP. 1:02:6 with just RA1's and race pads. The STi is moving down a class for next year. Hes going to clean up in that class. The Z06's are a bit much to compete against. Two of them were in the 59's. Only Greg Read in his Turner prepped and supercharged E36 M3 was faster than those Z06's that day.

I've been lurking over there on the COM forums. You're really making a stink. Its tough to make a level playing feild. The FD moved down to SSGT with the STi and Evo. You can't have a different class for every car.

My point with having a different class for every car is this; you can order a 911(996&997) in many flavors, from Carrera, CarreraS, Carrera4S, Turbo, GT2 to GT3. You can't have a class for every one of them. Same goes for the C5, C5Z06, C6 & C6Z06. You need to put a few of them in the same class or else you're creating classes and you'll have people winning classes by defalt due to lack of competition. You also can't put a stock road going car into SP or P. You can put the SSU monsters into STGT, but I don't see any with the new classifications.

I simply disagree. To simplify the discussion, just address this point I have made several times... a WRX modified to STi specs would be in SPB while the "stock" STi would be in SSGT. How do you reconcile that fact?
