christian- that sounds good. ill give you a call friday to confirm. im not sure if im gonna take the RX-7 or RX-8, since the 8 is now on the road. if i take the 8, you can come with me if you want, since im bringing another friend.

Pete- i called Carbotech. i didnt call Tom a *****, i just couldnt find a good time to drop it durning the conversation. He said a Front set (4 pads) of Ceramic Based XP8 pads are $142. i asked him about longevity, and he said at least a couple race days on Lime Rock. Which is equal to at least 200 miles. is this true, cause that's not much bang for the buck.

Think of it as matching your brake pads to your tires. Go with street pads (the Panther *****'s, as some of my friends call them) if you're on sticky street tires, such as the Azenis RT615's. You should step up to the XP8 race pad since you're running a race tire, V710's correct?

You're also not that hard on brakes, so you should get a good few track days out of them. I'd estimate about 8-12 days. I run the XP10s, FWIW, and I've done one Test and Tune at NHIS, (2hrs on track) and two days of dual driving at Tremblant (~400 track miles), then drove home on them, and it looks like I can get another weekend of dual driving out of them. And don't forget I've got an extra 500lbs of V8 way out in the front of the car that I need to slow down before plowing like crazy through the turns.

thanks a lot Pete. i am getting the XP8s i just dont know when. i will be running the V710's into the ground on October 2. i was planning on just using them for the time attacks, but i might as well use them and end the season with them. thanks for all the info. i thought the LS1 swap was only 50lbs heavier then the 13B (according to Sport Compact Car) for a basis i weigh 2750 on empty. are you going to Zoom Zoom or the F1 Meet? let me know

holy s***! i was under the impression that the swapped motor weighed a lot more then the 13b. if i remember correctly, you have a full interior, minus trunk carpeting, dividers, and spare tire right? i had the carpet and tire in at nationals, but thats still 15lbs. the LS1 swap is looking a lot more like a good idea. not that id ever do it, but i am starting to appreciate it more. David was talking about buying a Camaro and swapping a 13B into it. how do you think that would fly? we can start the revolution in motor swaps.

the wifey? whens the wedding? i think it is about time you settle down, buy a house, have a couple kids, buy a minivan and a ride-on lawn mower. that's what you need. just invite me to the wedding!

Most of my friends said that once.... once.

Oh, and don't say 'wife' until you're actually married... TRUST me on that one.

I used to have that rule with sedans, until I got my GSR sedan and then a 325ix sedan. They are fun to drive and it's nice never to get bothered by the cops, revved on by ricers or worry about thieves. So now I've sworn never to own a automatic tranny car... ever.

Minivans are excellent vehicles for what they do - transport stuff. A lot of stuff.
SUVs are good if and only if you're going to take it offroad or through rough terrain where the high stance and 4WD is useful or if you're going to be towing.

Otherwise, there's no reason to buy an SUV if a minivan would suit your purposes.

With that in mind, my friend wants to get an old wood-panel dodge caravan and mount some monster engine in the rear, over the axle for drag.

When you do settle down and get married you'll sing a different tune just like kC says. Hey Christian...it was nice to see you down at Bryant (or should I call it Slo Motorsports South).

David and I are seriously thinking about going north to NHIS. He and are both in 5th place (in the points standings). Me in SM2 and he in Novice Non-stock. Trophy territory. We have to compete in at least 5 events and we're only at 4 so far. David can move up a few spots and I might be able to as well. Have fun at F1. David wouldn't be able to race anyways because of the stinking 18 year old rule. His fast time for track 1 is 19.4 and for track 2 is 14.8. So if any of you beat those times he'll be jealous.

thats good to hear. get me a t-shirt from the windy city. my size is medium husky. just kidding. like i said earlier, i might have a fair i have to work at around the 9th, so im not sure if id be able to make it. either way, im sure you could get interest in it. ill see you when you get back for sure though.

Good luck SLO Motorsports. "Auto Crossing- Where beating your kids is accepted and encouraged" Hope all holds up with the car. David seems to have a new strategy so im anxious to see how that turns out for him. stay out of the sun, drink lots of water, wear the sunscreen, and play nice with the others.

i dont know if the old man is going (KC), but if you get the chance, take a ride with him. that ride he took me for (thanks a lot, truly appreciated you haulin my fat *** around for a run) really showed me what i've been doing wrong and can improve on. he pretty much slices the slaloms with surgery precision at death-defying speeds. well maybe not that fast, but it sure was impressive non the less. its also going to be a new "track" so its going to obviously be different then the home court advantaged Ft. Devens, but thats all part of experience. sorry i cant make it, but have fun and again good luck. (jeeze does rick ever shut up? )
