Lots of 7s around here hopefully I get mine soon any recommendations for emissions testing around the Columbia area? That's what's keeping me from having her shipped to my house!

If it's an FB or FC you can just get historic tags and not have to do emissions or inspection...

Maryland got rid of all it's dynos (for lack of a better word) at it's emission testing stations. Now it just has to pass a idle test which I've heard is a joke... just make sure it has a cat and you should be fine

Yea I've heard so if the car is running cleanly I shouldn't have any problems? Good to know! Thanks for the reply This is pushing me to jump on the one I found cannot wait

Or if it's a 93 wait three months and get an historic plate. The first FDs are eligible in 2013.
Just, please, don't get the historic plate if you intend to daily-drive it.
We almost lost the historic designation early this year because of ******** abusing it to daily-drive 20 year-old beater Camrys.
Fortunately the National Motorists Association, SEMA Action Network, and others stepped in and temporarily stopped the bill. We may still lose the plates...

I believe some of them you can already register as Historic, if they go by the build date (like VA does). A lot of '93 cars were actually built in 92 so that they could be shipped here for the early model year sales.
And yes, make sure that you are not daily driving it.

I've done lots of research on Historic plates. I'm 99% sure they go by model year, not production year. In Maryland everything on all of the paperwork is by model year, and the COMAR (Code of Maryland Regulations) talks about model year. No mention of "production date", "build date" or anything similar in the law.

I would've sworn that I read somewhere about the build date. But, that will teach me for opening my mouth before going back and re-researching. True you are, it is model year not build date (even in VA).

You will have no problem passing the test. I passed with a pretty highly modified FD with no problem whatsoever.
Objection!

If you're running a high flow catalytic converter or similar, things start to get a little bit weird. My test passed on 174/175 PPM of hydrocarbons with fresh spark plugs and a little extra "help." (Running 3" piping with Random Tech converter on a street ported engine and a tuned ECU.)

So just got my baby wondering if there's any experienced FD owners around my area that wouldn't mind coming out and taking a look at my car and chatting for a few could use all the pointers I can get and it's always fun to make new friends haha

I'd come check your FD out buddy, but I up'd and moved and brought both my FD's with me to FL a couple months ago. But I'm down to answer any questions you have over the phone if you need.
See if you can post any pics of your engine bay and car.

If you are free Sunday, come on down to the DC cruise. There will be a couple of FD owners there. What better way to get introduced to the local club members.

If you want, some of us MD guys are meeting at the rest area on I-95 just north of the Rt216 exit at 7:45. That way we can get down there and grab some breakfast before we cruise the DC area.
ALL THING ROTARY NUT

We are still having the dyno day and car meet at the shop on Saturday morning from 10 to 6 if anyone wants to come out and hang with some rotor heads.
